TRENTON, N.J. (AP) – Gov. Chris Christie has signed a law requiring law enforcement agencies to tell the state information about guns that are seized or found abandoned.
Christie said in a statement Friday that the law will help keep weapons away from criminals.

But….if the guns are already seized/recovered, by definition they are not in the hand of the criminals and one would expect that cops wouldn’t be doing a gun “Sell-Back” to the criminals or what the hell is going up in New Jersey?
Damn, that is one screwed up state, I tell ya.
I can’t figure out how writing a report to the state keeps guns out of criminal hands.
Maybe the criminal element is New Jersey cops.

I’m pretty sure this is intended to gather information about guns that WERE being used by criminals until very recently.
I’m not sure how useful the information will be, though.
