After Woodin used the umbrella to knock the man out, he took away the gun and emptied the clip. Woodin and another man then held him until deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrived. Deputies questioned both sides, but neither party wanted to press charges.

Something missing? Well, yes. How about an arrest. The alleged violator would be breaking Florida Statute 790.10

“Improper exhibition of dangerous weapons or firearms.—If any person having or carrying any dirk, sword, sword cane, firearm, electric weapon or device, or other weapon shall, in the presence of one or more persons, exhibit the same in a rude, careless, angry, or threatening manner, not in necessary self-defense, the person so offending shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.”

That is up to a year in Jail and a $1,000 fine. We don’t see a gun improperly exhibited at any time and at most, maybe Asshole One made it look like he had one or Asshole Two though he had one and proceeded to whack him with the umbrella. And even in Florida, Sheriff Departments take a dim view of people being idiot with guns, specially on the beach with kids around.
