“Nah, I am done with handguns for a while. There is nothing that I really like out there ”
And earlier today I heard Michael Bane’s podcast and a new gun being introduced.
One of the painful holes in my small stash of sidearms is a snubby and I am not much into the modern look at all. And the old cool guns are priced into the four figure sky, so forget about it
But the Roscoe? A 2″ .38 Special +P? super old school snubbie retailing for $360? Oh! hellyesIwantsoverymuchthankyou.
I love my 2” S&W stainless …
Dammit…!
From everything I can see, at least looking at the gun and the markings, it’s a Taurus 85 (other side of the gun is marked “Taurus Armas”) with the high-polish “blued” finish on it that got imported under the Heritage instead of Taurus USA.
.
Any I can dig that. Especially the return of a polished blued gun in a sea of matte stainless and black oxide.
Re polished blued … I recently picked up a Model 29 Classic with a polished blued finish. There’s just something about a wheelgun done up like that that just seems “right.” Kind of like a color case hardened finish on a lever gun. At least to my aesthetic sense, it just works.
I absolutely agree. The polished blue just evokes that classic wheelgun emotion. One of my wheelguns is the last 4” Model 83 to leave the Miami facility at Taurus. It’s, essentially, a Brazilian, 4” S&W Model 15. I laid eyes on it and had to have it because, like you said, it just looks right. The top strap was even grooved/serrated and blasted so it looks done in a matte blue that doesn’t reflect the sun when you’re on the range.
.
The more I think about it, the more I think that new Heritage “Roscoe” would make a nice backup to it.
Wife’s pocket pew pew is a model 36 (Chiefs’ Special)
Nice little piece.
My wife’s sister used a stubby S&W in .357 magnum. Yes, that stings when you shoot it. And she was a skinny 5’0″ lady.
Buddy of mine is all over this:

.
Looks like a nice carry wheel gun, and in .32mag, it hits the sweet spot between power and capacity for a revolver.
.
But, it does not have the vintage look that is pushing Miguel into droolland.
Most important question: WHEN AND WHERE CAN YOU BUY THIS??!! I WANT TO TELL SOMEONE TO SHUT UP, TAKE MY MONEY AND HAND ME THE (#@*@ 4473!
