It would be considered stupid.
But I have to give it the benefit of the doubt with hurricane season coming and a generator may be home.

Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

All this crap is getting out of hand. Been planning and preparing to get a new hybrid minivan, and they’re all suddenly gone. Literally, eight on the lot one day, none the next. We’re not even in the secondary effect area.
Behold the new Tesla Pinto, you too can die in a flaming funeral pyre when rear ended. At least you’re saving the environment.
Actually, you can die in a flaming funeral pyre in a rear ended Tesla even without the gas cans…
Any car can catch fire, it’s inevitable given the energy density involved. Tesla’s battery design is quite fanatically crafted for both preventing and containing fires. Given that the battery is in the floor, in front of the rear axle, it would take quite a hit to break the cells. And even then chances are only one of the 16 compartments would have a problem. Ditto with punctures from below, even assuming a hard object can punch through the titanium shield underneath the battery pack.
I drive a Bolt EV and I feel like a total weirdo whenever I head down to the local gas station in an electric car even if it is just to fill up my gas cans for the generators or to get more propane for the grill and patio heaters.
That said, I like the hitch rack idea. Keeps the fuel outside the passenger area. I’ll need to get a hitch sometime.
Aw darn was hoping that was some kinda catapult. Roadflare, gas can, big ol solenoid and compressor in the trunk
They all look competently tied down…
