Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. I’m in Indiana, what the hell is a universal background check…? We also don’t have safe storage laws. We do have a red flag law…

  2. All such laws are unconstitutional. After the roasting in Bruen, it’s becoming painfully clear – gun grabbers have lost the war. All they can do now is pass unconstitutional laws which temporarily disrupt commerce until someone pays the lawyers enough $$ to get them TRO’d…. and boy golly, are they doing that in waves…

  3. As a scientist, I support universal background checks … conducted with radio telescopes and are intended to help probe the origins of life, the universe and everything. There should be no other kind, imo.

  4. Common sense.
UBC’s are meaningless. It requires the person transferring the gun to self report the transfer/sale.

I am a law abiding and responsible gun owner, but will I seriously take the time and effort to get a background check on my neighbor before I sell them a shotgun I am no longer using? Really? Why?

And, frankly, if you cannot enforce the law, it is meaningless. How will the State know what guns I am in possession of, and when I transferred/sold them? Let’s say I bought a pistol 10 years before a UBC law was passed. I could have sold that gun to a complete stranger on a street corner in the bad part of town two years after I bought the gun, or a day before the law went into effect. Because I did not self report the sale, the State will never know when I sold it. Even if I sold it days/months after the law was in effect, they cannot charge me for violating the UBC law because they have no idea when I sold it.

There is no “common sense” to UBC laws at all. In fact, they are nonsensical because it gives politicians the illusion that they are “doing something” when in fact, nothing will happen at all.

  5. My take on this issue is that she believes she has enough pet monkeys in her state to decisively maintain and perhaps sway political support with what she, and leftist before her, trained their monkeys to support. It’s all she’s got left strategically in her bag of tricks to rally the monkey brigade.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
