There is a quote that is often attributed to either Abraham Lincoln or Mark Twain:

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove any doubt.

There needs to be SJW corollary to the effect of:

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove you are also a racist.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions was giving a speech to the National Sheriff’s Association and said something that triggered the Left.

Di you hear it?  “Anglo-American heritage,” that was it.  To the people who hear microaggressions in “good morning” this was the equivalent to Sessions putting on a white hood and doing a “Heil Hitler.”

Of course the digital poop smear that is Jezebel would get their panties twisted over this.

Ignorant celebrity (another redundant statement) Alyssa Milano thought Sessions should be fired for this.

But what is most embarrassing is the number of people who got triggered and should know better.

An NBC news host who complains about being called “fake news.”

The ACLU is an organization made up of a bunch of lawyers.  They are dumb.

Sitting Senator from Hawaii Brian Schatz.

So what did AG Jeff Sessions mean to a rational person.

Anglo is a word meaning “relating to England.”  This is why the Church of England is called the Anglican Church.

Sessions was referring to the fact that the rules and customs of American jurisprudence stem from English common law.  This is first year pre law level knowledge.

The National Sheriff’s Association gives the history of the office of the Sheriff going back to 9th Century in England.

This is in contrast to the Francophonic world which has Gendarmerie, which are a branch of the military used as state or local law enforcement.

This is notable in that the Sheriff is the right of the people to elect their law enforcement representative and the Gendarmerie is the power of the king to use the military to enforce the law domestically.

It has nothing to do with race or white supremacy to educated, thinking Americans.

Unfortunately for this country, so many of the loudest and most influential voices on the Left are the very opposite of educated and thinking.

  1. BTW — when I made the point elsewhere, someone trotted out Arabic “sharif”. The words are unrelated.

(Honestly I’m surprised “sharif” didn’t come from sherrif via the Crusadez.)

  2. Yes, sheriff is olde English :
It is a contraction of “Shire Reeve” — with “shire” as a sort of equivalent to “county”, and “reeve” was an official “elected annually by the serfs to supervise the lands”.
The morons on the left can’t get out of their own way. This took 30 seconds on Wikipedia.
