Recently we have seen several cases of pieces of rope called nooses and hate crimes by the outrage mob. A scrap piece of rope for a construction site, some homemade exercise equipment in a park, a garage door pull, etc.
There is a small group of people that see something innocuous and immediately, the first thing they do is identify it at a hate symbol and ascribe malicious and racist intent upon whoever put it there.

On July 1, the Twitter accounts of the Jewish progressive group Bend the Arc and the Republican anti-Trump group the Lincoln Project noticed a striking similarity between an America First t-shirt for sale on the Trump Make America Great Again Committee website and the Nazi eagle.

That Nazis stole every symbol they ever used. The eagle on the globe, technically the Eagle, Globe, Anchor (EGA) has been the symbol of the United States Marine Corps since 1868, with only minor changes.

Before the Marines adopted that symbol, it was used on the ceremonial mace of the House of Representatives, the Mace of the Republic, crafted in 1841.
Nancy Pelosi wears that symbol as a brooch because is the Speaker of the House (image warning).
Pelosi can wear it but Trump puts it on a shirt and he’s invoking Nazi iconography.

I’m pretty sure the swatstica was an ancient Asian symbol signifying good luck. Historical gripe, I know. Could be cross cultural, it’s a simple design.
Either way, the fact one murderous group used it one time doesn’t invalidate it for all time.
There were more cultures that used the swastika. The germanic, nordic and baltic cultures did as well – the finnish airforce used this symbol and they were a few knights in medieval germany that also used a swastika as their heraldic symbol.
Hell I guess every culture that used weaving used swastikas at some point because it’s a symbol that’s pretty easy to incorporate in woven braids.

Not to mention the NRA (National Recovery Act) “Blue Eagle” of the “New Deal.” Note the NRA was actually a fascist economic control program, that was found to be unconstitutional by the SCOTUS.

Also I eagerly await the day someone dresses up Mikey mouse like the gestapo, puts a Nazi arm band on Pepa pig, etc to turn them all into Nazis. Basically for someone to take the most innocuous and publicly well known symbol or characterand turn it into a nazi/white supremacist/etc symbol to demonstrate just how fucking stupid all of these people are. Exactly like what was done with the ok hand symbol, just something with more reach and mass appeal.
