If you look like an escapee from Call Of Duty or have a rifle hanging from you, Mainstream Media make a beeline towards you, shove a mike under your face and make you look stupid.
If you are dressed normally and speak well, they avoid you like the plague.
Didn’t we learn these lessons back in the 90s when the media crews stalked the outside of Gun Shows in their campaign for the Assault Weapons Ban?
And for the love of God, you don’t have to speak to them (specially if you are not good at it or have your “elevator pitch” ready), but smile, say “no, thank you” and be polite about it.

I am reminded of a comment my father-in-law made to a television crew. Some fool robbed the local McDonalds where he and his friends had their morning coffee klatch. The crew followed him home and asked for his reaction. He told them, “I don’t talk to parasites” and closed the door. Didn’t make the evening news for some reason.
