From the NY Post:

DNI John Ratcliffe says info on Hunter Biden laptop isn’t Russian disinformation

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe on Monday said the information contained on Hunter Biden’s laptop revealed by The Post last week “is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign.”

“Hunter Biden’s laptop is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign,” Ratcliffe said.

“Let me be clear: The intelligence community doesn’t believe that because there is no intelligence that supports that. And we have shared no intelligence with Adam Schiff, or any member of Congress,” he said.

That was Sunday, this is today:

So Biden is going to hide from this blowout that the DNI essentially confirmed that the Hunter emails and crack pipe video are real?

Just how fucked do you have to be to be accused of the biggest corruption scandal since and including Teapot Dome and to believe the best approach is hide for three days?

  1. The only thing I’ve seen from ‘never-trump’er associates are Russia Russia Russia refrains and calling the NYpost a tabloid.

This one is really worrying them.

  2. I wonder how many people want to recall their mail-in ballot voting for Biden?

Emergent information like this is one reason I’m not a fan of extremely early voting. (I will likely be heading to the polls myself this Friday.)

  3. He’s hiding because no reporters will ask him questions now, and no reporters will make the point that you just made: That he is most definitely hiding.

  4. This is half of the one-two punch. (1) DNI says this isn’t Russian disinformation. (2) FBI receives child porn files from the laptop.

Yeah, Biden is smart to hide until Thursday. Not that it will do him any good. Trump will cut him to shreds. The child porn stuff will kill Gropey Joe’s chances with suburban Soccer Moms.

Stick a fork in him; he’s done.

  5. I think the DNC might be setting Joe up to back out “graciously” and pave the way for Harris as President, maybe with Andrew Cuomo as VP. (There’s NO WAY they didn’t know about Hunter’s crack habit or stripper hookups — hell, they probably set it up.)

One hiccup — and why we NEED to fill the SCOTUS vacancy — is that there’s nothing in the rules about what happens to all the early mail-in votes that went to Biden.

Read that again: Nothing in federal law says early votes for Biden automatically transfer to Harris if Biden can’t continue for any reason.

It’ll be up to SCOTUS to decide things like that, in the event it happens. The last thing we need is a 4-4 split.

    1. Actually, the answer to that is simple. You just need to remember that you’re not voting for the president; you’re voting for electors.
In mid-December, the electors pick the president and vice-president. Normally they pick the person you expect. SCOTUS has decided a case about “faithless electors”, saying that states could prohibit or punish such. But that’s not going to apply when a candidate has withdrawn. Presumably the answer is that the newly approved party candidate gets the votes instead. Now, if the electors decide to go in N different directions, things get interesting if that leads to no candidate getting a majority (more than half) of the electors. In that case the decision lands in Congress, and for the case of the President in the House, with odd rules. Look them up, it’s a bit of Constitutional trivia everyone should understand.

Incidentally, if that particular issue comes to SCOTUS it probably won’t be 4-4 or 5-4; the “faithless electors” decision was unanimous.
