Bernie pulled another “[Communist country] may be an authoritarian dictatorship but they did [perceived good statistic].”

This time with China.

Depending on how you look at this, he’s not wrong.

China starved 50 Million of it’s poorest citizens to death.

China also imposed mandatory one-child policies with forced abortions, which reduced the number of mouths to feed in a family.

Killing millions of citizens and forcing millions of more abortions does take people out of poverty because if they are dead, they are not poor anymore.

  1. Killing millions of citizens and forcing millions of more abortions does take people out of poverty because if they are dead, they are not poor anymore.

And the few living people they’ve brought out of poverty were lifted out by allowing some free market capitalist reforms. That the Chicom party then raids to steal money for themselves.

  2. The WSJ comments that Bernie was also wrong about the supposed literacy program that Fidel ran. Contrary to Bernie, literacy was quite high in Cuba before Fidel.
