In case you missed the news:
In a 5-4 ruling, the US Supreme Court sided with religious organizations in a dispute over Covid-19 restrictions put in place by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo limiting the number of people attending religious services.
This news got #amycovidbarrett trending on Twitter.
This was not a terribly hard decision to make if you are not Leftist activist.
The First Amendment is very clear:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
One more time with the relevant section highlighted:

Okay.
Furher Cuomo and Reichsmarshall de Blasio cannot tell Jews they can’t congregate in a Synagogue in enough numbers to form a minyan but let a bunch of people have a BLM rally in the streets because that is free speech.
It’s that simple. But You know how it is to Leftists. Their standards are so high, they’re double.
The vote should have been 9-0.
The Wall St. Journal made that exact point in their lead editorial today.
But… but… executive-branch edicts aren’t laws, so the First Amendment doesn’t apply!
Also, I note that any objection to unfettered executive power is now considered “authoritarian”, a judge who demands that politicians obey the laws is an “activist”, and a chief exec who tries to prune back the power of the executive branch is a “dictator”. Funny how meanings evolve.
Well the left hates freedom of speech and freedom of religion if it is not Islam. If they had there way they would repeal the first amendment and make speaking out against the far left illegal and punishable by execution without trial. Just imagine a United state where saying anything critical about the far left and democrats mean you a d your entire family is rounded up and exterminated. There would not be protests against because when they begin the government will come out in full force to machine gun the protestors down and then use surveillance to hunt down those that escaped and then execute there entire families since they did not immediately tell the government there spouse or parents went to that protest and then use the NSA to hunt down every single person in the United state that opposes the execution of every single United States citizen that oppose the government or criticizes the government and send them all to reeducation camps or just simply kill them. Because what the
Far left wants is to re-educate or preferably exterminate The entire United States population that opposes or resist them in anyway. And as the amount of people increases due to their more strong arm tactics increase number of people they have to exterminate.
The banning of all guns and the mandated extermination of every single solitary United States citizen that owns a firearm as well as every single United States citizen that opposes that is a given. The extermination of every single United States this and that voted for Trump or as a registered Republican is also a given. And don’t forget they want to remove the fourth amendment do they don’t have to give any Trump voters, protest Republicans, gun owners, everyone that opposes killing all of them, everyone that a post of the government in any way shape or form a trial. Just go right to just declare if all United States citizens that oppose them to be killed.
The Left doesn’t really like Islam all that much either. It’s more of “the enemy of my enemy” sort of thing, mixed with a fair bit of Frankfurt School critical theory.
A couple of other reasons the Left is currently cool with Islam: totalitarians are generally happy to band together, right up until it becomes inconvenient, and, as the feller said, a droid don’t pull people’s arms out of their sockets when they lose.
Jews and Christians are much safer enemies than Muslims. Better to play up the terrible danger posed by people who are mostly harmless than to incur the wrath of those known to retaliate.
