In the internet war between Trump supporters and Hillary supporters, each side believes that James Comey was a hack for their opponents.
Hillary supporters look at the October Letter and say “that cost Hillary the election.”
Trump supporters look at Comey’s statement that the discredited, salacious, and totally fictitious Seele Dossier was credible, leading to the Trump-Russia collusion investigation.
I believe that the only person that Comey is out for is James Comey.
I don’t know why, but it seems that he wants to be the most hated man in America. He’s like the political version of the ‘cash me outside girl.‘ Somehow he’s managing to turn nearly universal contempt of his bullshit and unethical antics into money and fame.
He’s a low rent internet fame whore who just happened to be FBI Director.
So Comey gave an interview to the British paper iNews UK.
James Comey interview: Donald Trump’s FBI nemesis on his road to redemption
For no appreciable reason, he decides to weigh in on the issue of gun control.
James Comey is also outspoken at the lack of action to tackle gun crime, especially school shootings, following the deaths of 10 children at Santa Fe High School in the latest major attack last month.
Maybe if his FBI wasn’t so busy with obviously fabricated anti Trump dossiers, they could investigate tips against school shooters.
“I’m comfortable around guns. I own guns,” he says, but adds: “Surely there are things we can agree upon that relate to who is able to buy a weapon, what kind of weapon and at what age, what the capabilities of the weapon are, how many rounds does it hold, and things like that, that in no way threaten the rights under the US constitution of people to keep and bear arms.
First of all, when a guy like Comey says “I’m comfortable around guns. I own guns,” it means he has a couple of very expensive over/unders he uses for skeet shooting or something like that. He was never an FBI field agent, he was an attorney with the DOJ and in private practice. I’m not sure if the FBI ever issued him a firearm or required him to qualify with it.
As for the “Surely there are things we can agree…” part. No, we surely can’t agree on all of that. Yeah, felons shouldn’t have guns. Assault weapon and high capacity magazine bans are not effective in reducing crime at all and serve only to inconvenience and criminalize otherwise lab abiding gun owners. One would think that the FBI Director would be familiar with the FBI data on all of this, but he’s not. He’s a political hack above all else.
“One of the worst things that goes on in the US is the current voice of the National Rifle Association, because it sells fear in the wake of any incident.”
Really? I thought it was the anti-gun activists dancing in the blood of the recently deceased, trying to fund raise off the still warm bodies that sold fear.
The NRA is push back against that. This is like “Republican pounce” stories. It’s never the antics of the antis, it’s always the NRA that is the problem.
He continues: “The single largest gun sale month in the history of the US was the month after the [20] children were butchered in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, on December 14 2012. I remember the date because it was my birthday and I was living in Connecticut.
“The reason gun sales spiked to incredible rates after that is the NRA turned around in the wake of that and said: ‘They’re coming for your guns.’ They sold fear to the American people,” says Comey.
They did at the state level. Does the NY SAFE Act ring a bell? Yes, gun owners were terrified that some equivalent would be passed by Obama in the dead of night like Cuomo did.
“Their constant argument is: ‘It’s a slippery slope. If we restrict a particular kind of weapon or raise the age of purchase, it means the end of gun ownership in the US.’ And that argument is a lie.
HA!!! It’s the antis who live on the slippery slope. It starts with “we’re not going to take your guns” and five minutes later after they explained their ideas for an AWB it turns into “we’re going to send cops into your home and pry your guns from your cold dead hands you small dick cowards.”
“There’s no slippery slope in America when it comes to guns. It’s a concrete staircase, which is our constitution…. We just have to decide should we go up a stair or down a stair.”
This lawyer called the Constitution a “concrete staircase?” This guy is a fucking moron.
The Second Amendment says “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
If that is anything, it is a brick wall. It’s right there where it says “shall not be infringed.” There is no staircase there.
Nowhere does the 2A say, well you can ban these guns but not those because of how they look or they hold more bullets than some hedge fund lawyer turned top cop is comfortable with.
In my deepest, most unrealistic fantasies, I dream that Ruth Bader Ginsburg is forced to retire when she can no longer physically make it into court and Trump sticks another Textualist onto the court. Then SCOUTS decides that “shall not be infringed” means exactly that and nullifies the NFA and GCA of 1986, and makes the entire nation Constitutional Carry.
Comey borrowed this interview from his appointer and Majesty Barack Obama. He’s in a foreign nation, with the air of authority conveyed by his former position, criticizing America, American citizens, and their civil rights.
He might think this will put him back in the Left’s good graces, but even the goldfish brains of the Left won’t forgive him for costing Hillary the election just yet. All he’s done is add another group of people to the list of those who have a justifiable reason to hate him.
The one thing to remember about James Comey is that he is 6’8″ tall, so it is entirely appropriate to say this about him.
“I believe that the only person that Comey is out for is James Comey.
He’s a low rent internet fame whore who just happened to be FBI Director.”
Pretty much.
He had one job, to keep the FBI off Hillary, so she would be elected. He failed.
I don’t agree that felons should be prohibited from owning firearms. The vast majority of felonies are not violent crimes.
In Texas, it is a felony to own more than 4 sex toys (chapter 43). 11 of the 2,324 acts that the Texas Legislature thinks are worthy of being called felonies, have to do with acts that you can commit with or to an oyster.
If you are using a household cleaner, and the label tells you to mix a cap full of the cleaner with a gallon of water, and you only mix it with 3.5 quarts of water, you have just used a labeled product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Felony.
In Montana It is a felony for a wife to open her husband’s mail.
In Florida, it is a felony to access WiFi without permission. There was a man who was convicted in 2005 of using the WiFi of a restaurant that advertised free WiFi for customers, because he was using the access from the parking lot while the establishment was closed. Since it was advertised as free WiFi for customers, and he could not be a customer while the business was closed, hello felony.
It’s a felony to have a raffle in Georgia, unless you are registered as a non-profit organization with the state.
In Michigan, it is a felony for a man to seduce an unmarried woman, punishable by 5 years in prison. Adultery is also a felony in Michigan, but only if the spouse being cheated on is the one who complained.
In Mississippi, if you promise to marry a woman, have sex with her, and then decide not to marry, you are guilty of a felony punishable by ten years in prison.
A 16 year old taking a picture of themselves in the nude has just produced child pornography, a felony. If the picture is found on their phone, they are guilty of possession of child porn, also a felony. If that teen sends it to their love interest, they have just distributed child porn, and the recipient is now also guilty of a felony (possession of child porn).

I think that removal of rights should not be automatic with felonies, but be a part of the sentence, and should sunset after a crime free period. For example, when convicted of battery, the sentence could be: 6 months in jail, one year probation, and three years’ removal of the right to possess firearms.
Yes, the number of criminal offenses created by random laws, and felonies in particular, is amazing. There are also random ones like the one that tripped up a student in NH a few years ago: he did something with a female fellow student that was a misdemeanor — except that in doing so he used email, which meant he used a computer, and by doing X *with a computer* it magically turned into a felony.
A small disagreement. Specifically, Comey did not cost the nasty Hildabeast the election. He kept her from being prosecuted when her guilt was incontrovertible which allowed her to stay in the race.
She lost the election all by herself by attacking us deplorable Americans and the NRA and threatening to take away our firearms. It did not help to not campaign in some fly over states, either.
Thank God that evil beast is not in the White House.
