…does not mean it is.
Millions of dollars later, Maryland has officially decided that its 15-year effort to store and catalog the “fingerprints” of thousands of handguns was a failure.
Since 2000, the state required that gun manufacturers fire every handgun to be sold here and send the spent bullet casing to authorities. The idea was to build a database of “ballistic fingerprints” to help solve future crimes.
But the system — plagued by technological problems — never solved a single case. Now the hundreds of thousands of accumulated casings could be sold for scrap.”Obviously, I’m disappointed,” said former Gov. Parris N. Glendening, a Democrat whose administration pushed for the database to fulfill a campaign promise. “It’s a little unfortunate, in that logic and common sense suggest that it would be a good crime-fighting tool.”

And that is the problem with the Opposition: they stamp the labels of “Logic” and “Common Sense” and the rest of the world has to assume they are right and that their schemes are going to work. Why? because they know better than you (also another label) because they said so also and not because they had actual experience in the matter. You car breaks down, you take it to a mechanic. Your Air Conditioner pops, you call HVAC experts. You get sick, you go to a doctor. There is a problem with crime? Let’s call a Snake Oil Salesman and spend millions of dollars of taxpayers money because they assured us it would work. A Travelling Carnival should not make for policies that impact the lives of people.
Let me see if I can get the message across to the #gunsense #guncontrol people: Do you want to get rid of the “gun problem” and improve Gun Safety? Call Gun People, we know that stuff.
Now, can we get started on getting rid of the Gun Free Zone Magical Elixir? How many more gallons of that stupid horse…radish are we going to keep shoving down people’s throats?
