I saw Miguel’s post on Larry Correia’s The 2nd Amendment is Obsolete, Says Congressman Who Wants To Nuke Omaha.

I could probably do a post on ever other paragraph on this incredible breakdown, but there was one paragraph that made me stop an laugh.

The problem with all those advanced weapons systems you don’t understand, but keep sticking onto memes, is guess who builds them, maintains them, and drives them? When I first saw this idiotic Apache meme my comment was that sadly Freedom Eagle’s day job was as a contractor doing helicopter engine maintenance.

On the second Saturday of the month, I shoot USPSA at a range outside of Huntsville.

Depending on the weather, the crowd of shooters can get pretty big, but there are a couple dozen really dedicated locals.

I also know the regular shooters at one of the indoor ranges on the west side of town.

In Huntsville, there is a repair depot for Blackhawk helicopters.

A few of our regulars work there.

We have regulars who work for Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and Yulista, and all the other defense aerospace contractors.

I work with guys who have designed warheads for missiles currently in our inventory.

I shoot with a former manager at Lake City.

Don’t get me started on the guys I know at Remington in Huntsville.

If the government tried to disarm the civilian population and use the military to disarm them, I can guarantee that at the very least, the entire staff of Lake City, FN USA, Rock Island Arsenal, General Dynamics, and every other supplier of ordinance to the US military will call in sick.  The will probably loot the factory and burn it down on the way out.

I can back Larry up on what he said.  From just the people I know in Huntsville, there is a very good chance that the guy the Left wants to shoot for owning an AR-15, is the same guy responsible for keeping a fleet of military helicopters in flightworthy.

I’m just an armchair strategist, but it’s probably not a good idea to threaten to kill a civilian gun owner with the military weapon platform that he maintains for his day job.

  1. Most of the leftist who are running their mouths ( keyboard) obviously have little to no training in survival skills, no military experience, can barely figure out which end of a cartridge is the bullet and will die of dehydration while it’s raining outside. If They can use neclear weapons as a joke it is proof that the have no empathy for their fellow human beings and should be considered extremely dangerous should they gain power. That being a real possibility since socialism has a history of worshiping the craziest among them and elevating them to demigod status.

  2. And while the supply and maintenance and manufacturing are done by those who care more for their country and the Constitution than the leftist weirdos, another thing to consider that might just put the kibosh on the wet dream of taking those evil guns from evil Americans…

Those military troops that the leftist weirdos assume they will order to do their dirty work….

Those are the people who have sworn to protect and defend that same Constitution that the leftist weirdos want to discard.

While some will no doubt follow what would clearly be very illegal orders, the majority would do the right thing, and those self satisfied, smug and holier than thou leftist would find themselves at the business end of a military tribunal along with anyone who decided to issue those very illegal orders.

God Bless America and all who have served, be they military or industry, that she may be stronger than those who would destroy her.

  3. The key to protecting our gun rights, aside from the Second Amendment of our Constitution, is the county sheriff. The sheriff is the highest ranking law enforcement officer ELECTED to office. All others above him/her are appointed or hired by someone who was appointed. As such, the county sheriff is directly responsible to the people who elected him. If he is a “constitutional sheriff”, he recognizes that he derives all authority from his constituents and that he has the right to uphold the 2nd Amendment in his county especially if the state constitution also has adopted federal 2nd Amendment provisions. In addition, based on Supreme Court decisions (Prince), local law enforcement is not required and can refuse to aid or assist federal law officers.
So imagine a bunch of Federales in your county, trying to confiscate guns from y’all, while the sheriff and his deputies ignore their pleas for help.

    1. “…has the right to uphold the 2nd Amendment…” — I would say “the sworn duty”. So do unelected officials, in fact — they all are required to swear an oath even though politicians never take it seriously.
