I actually had to read that one twice, and I probably need a logic check, but it sure looks to me like Nony there is making a case that COVID19 is the equivalent of WEAPONISED PHOSGENE GAS; and that a square of cotton t-shirt fabric is the equivalent of a WW1 Small Box Respirator.

Just go and read the whole thing. You may even get a chuckle or two while whittling your Clue by Four.
I can sort of understand how people can be pushed to say stupid stuff. It is difficult not to get caught up in the hype. Go to watch some sporting event live, and see if you can make it all the way through without cheering for something. Even if you had zero interest in the sport, you get caught up.
Every day, more headlines about XYZ hundred new cases, and the infection rate going in the wrong direction, etc… Is it any surprise that people make stupid analogies? You get caught up in the hype.
I have gotten into the habit of calculating the percent of tests that come back negative for the virus in my State. Every time it calcs out to more than 95% of the tests indicate no virus. That grounds me, and keeps me from taking the headlines seriously.
One does wonder just exactly how many of the Screaming Karens have actually spent regular quality time with their old folks? Or did before the Rona came about?
