The official forecast says:
A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 2pm and 5pm. Partly sunny and hot, with a high near 96. Heat index values as high as 109. Light west wind.
We re not Death Valley, too much humidity and about 60 degrees lower temps.
Brevity in a headline is good, but accuracy is better. They tried to say it may reach around 105 but apparently that was not covered in Journalism class.
Still not surprised.
But it’s a Dry Heat.
So… South Florida is going to be miserably hot and humid. Whodathunk?
I mean, gee, what’s next, warnings about mosquitoes or sharks or alligators or rabid zombie democrats from Broward County?
It’s almost like a peninsula that goes from sub-tropical to tropical is, according to the news media, not expected to be hot.
Maybe, just maybe, those hot temperatures are why orange groves used to stretch the length of Florida, well, until most of them north of Orlando were frozen in the mid to late 70’s.
You live in South Floriduh and they are freaking out about a heat index of 105? We had 102 Thursday and I pulled a 12 hour shift outside in it. I live in Indiana…
