WESTON, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies are searching for two males who they said were captured on surveillance video trying to break into multiple vehicles in Weston.
Video released Friday shows the two thieves trying to break into vehicles around 2:40 a.m. Jan. 12 that were parked outside a home in The Islands community, located on Camellia Drive and Island Way.
Detectives believe the same thieves also burglarized several unlocked cars in the same community, as well as another community. (Bold are mine)

Check the video in the link. It reflects what I have seen before: They do not care for cameras or motion sensor lights. It is a crime mostly without preparation or tools and they are counting on your laziness and absent-mindness and leave the car door unlocked.

  1. I live on a back country road 1 1/2 miles long with 13 houses on it. Only my pickup truck sits outside at night; my bike and the wife’s SUV are in the closed up garage. The driveway is a switchback 100 yards long. You’d better believe my truck (and the house) are locked up tight every night. Our town has no police force, we rely on the six shift state troopers on duty for a large area. So the chances of a patrol car catching the door handle-checking punks is zero.
