I don’t care if you are gay… But Chaps and a Thong is not dignified attire to be out in public in. Same with an AR-15 Rifle. This isn’t Israel. This isn’t Baghdad. And you are not a PMC Contractor… What you are is an insensitive jerk throwing your rights in people’s faces at the expense over everyone elses. That’s not the Libertarian Way. I realize it’s illegal to openly carry pistols in Texas. But that doesn’t mean you should openly carry rifles and shotguns into a fast food joint.
But if you are going to do that, at least comb your fucking hair and put on a clean shirt with a collar.
That could provide good leverage to push for open carry of pistols in Texas. (It’s legal in Colorado, I’m surprised the much more Right-wing Texas forbids them) A pistol on the hip freaks people out a LOT less than an AR on a sling.
I also agree that if you’re going to do an open-carry demonstration, you should be dressed to the nines. Find a lady with a good sense of taste and ask her to dress you up for the occasion. There’s a SIGNIFICANT difference in appearance between walking out there looking like your average nerd convention attendee with a gun and looking like James Bond, Carey Grant, Gary Cooper, or John Wayne.
Actually, there’s a phrase from Denmark that applies quite well; “Just because you CAN do something does not mean you SHOULD.”
I could not agree more stridently with the folks who think AR’s, black tactical gear, combat boots, and bad attitudes have no place on the steps of the Capitol building. Anti gunners and a complicit media instantly focus on those few individuals, and the pro gun cause is compromised.
