It dawned on me why I hate fashion masks, e.g. cloth masks that show a sports logo or are in pretty patterns.
A fashion mask normalizes mask wearing as a fashion accessory instead of a purely utilitarian item you have no emotional attachment to.
It makes me feel that masking will never end.
Not just the threat of a [X]th COVID wave, but cold and flu season, etc.
Essentially, we will be mandated in perpetuity to wear a mask to prevent the spread of a virus forever and because it has become a fashion accessory, people will accept it as normal.
Maybe I’m being paranoid but I’ve not seen one politician who wants to mandate masking say at what point that mandate will end, while at the same time I’ve seen articles on how COVID control techniques have really cut down on the flu.
The only positive to logo masks is the ability to see the morons you work with who leave the mask in the car and wear it day after day after day at work It’s worse than not changing underwear every day.
I love the logo masks, it makes it easier to see who is a moron and therefore best to avoid.
In Germany we already have the “second lockdown” – some european countries even have far worse lockdowns.
Noone except politicians opts for a “lockdown”. Even the WHO is against it.
It started a week ago and was planned for the whole november – but already our politicians are saying that even after the lockdown is over our “Grundrechte” (our non-negotianable rights according to our constitution) will and can not be totally restored.
Oh and we can’t go to court against these rules. If we do, we get fined for “obstruction of justice” or whatever it is calles.
And the worst part? There are so many people okay with this. so many people who gleefuly repeat all the bullshit, all the lies, all the propaganda.
It’s not the governments fault – it’s the fault of egoists and “covidiots” who don’t play by the rules so our government is practically FORCED to “tighten the reins” (Yes. That’S what Angela Merkel said repeatedly- “teighten the reins” as if we’re some dumb animals).
Be careful that this does not happen to you.
Does Germany have a meaningful Constitution? I know it has something with that label, but does it have words that limit, in any significant way, the arbitrary power of the government. The US one does (in theory — the practice is, always, a different question).
The only other constitution I know well is the Dutch one, which is a worthless document that provides neither limit nor protection. If you look at just one bit, make it article 120 (available in English translation), it would be comical if it weren’t so sad.
That is the exact reason why I don’t make my own masks. (I could do it easily – I have the means and the skill.)
I only wear disposable masks to ward of fines (If I don’t wear a mask while at work my boss can get fined at least 5.000€ up to 25.000€!) – I don’t want that to be normal, I don’t want to a stupid mask to be an fashion statement.
Well, maybe I should build one with “Now less than 30% effective!” written on it…

Yup I think the same think. It’s groundhog say, every four weeks our geriatric governor calls a press conference. If she sees her shadow then 4 more weeks of her bullshit.
I have asked numerous times of both Governor MeeMaw’s office and others what their criteria for lifting their mandates are. No replies. Ever.
Not even a “Thank you for contacting us, prole. Now fuck off,” response.
Yup. Its amazing how easy it is to control morons. This mask crap is driving me crazy. The only reason i wear one is so i dont lose my job. We went for a walk today at a local state park. People OUTSIDE IN THE WOODS wearin masks. What kinda coward are you?? I think the only way to end mask bs is quit wearin the fukkin thing. If millions of us do just that maybe millions more will.
