My first question was: was this mall, properly posted gun-free? TX signage has the force of law. The piece also said that the assailant had an “assault rifle. Uh huh. Sure he did.
A Simon property. Their code of conduct says “no weapons” but that is not valid under Texas law. I just checked Texas3006.com for reported Texas legal signage on any of the individual businesses and found no evidence of any although that is not conclusive . The Texas3006 site data is submitted by Texas gun owners voluntarily and is by no means exhaustive.
