Back in 1945, Venezuela was plagued with malaria and other tropical diseased so government started an aggressive health campaign and began spraying all over the country with a relatively unknown insecticide called DDT. By 1961 the country was certified by W.H.O. as to be Malaria free (It actually mean more than 2/3s of the previous malaria zone registered no new infections), the third time they awarded that recognition being the other two countries the US of A and the USSR.
Jump to 2018 and we find out that there are 600,000 cases of malaria in one state and 175,000 just this year. We find out that the Socialist government has not sprayed for the past two years and do not seem to care much if it is done.
Thanks to Socialism’s Time Machine, Venezuela’s health jumped 73 years back in time.
That is “progress.”
To the leftist environmental wackos (yeah, redundant) DDT is worse than sarin, Zyclon B or mustard gas. Yes, when overused, it can be detrimental to some species; however, it is non-toxic to humans, relatively inexpensive and, until banned, saved millions of lives in tropical and sub-tropical climates. I never did understand why Rachel Carson went after the chemical industry by advocating the death of millions.

Because feature, not bug.
