Hi everyone!

I want to apologize for not being on in the past… (looks at the editor, swears softly)… month. I’ve been ill, and during the last 2.5 weeks, I’ve pretty much been unable to see to type thanks to a sinus infection. I’m much better now (thank you, modern medicine!), and hope to get posting some juicy stuff in the near future.

Is there anything that you’d like commentary on? I can think of several topics I could touch on… Presidential candidates, current TikTok/Social Media bull cookies going around, education in America, the war in the Ukraine, the war in Gaza, etc. Are there any topics you’d like a more left-leaning point of view about?

Blessings of the season to all of you, and may you have quiet and peaceful holidays and holy days.

Hagar

Spread the love

  1. Hi Hagar – am very happy that you’re feeling better!
Vaccine status and info about what helped you get better are of interest to me as there seems to be something horrid making the rounds – but I understand if that’s too personal.
I just came off of the flu, and believe it or not the best remedy for my painfully unbalanced sinuses was to chew gum until they equalized.
Thoughts on non-kinetic solutions to lawfare might also be interesting.
Anyway, glad you’re back and feeling better!

    1. Vaccines, good topic. Something I’ve been thinking a lot about, lately, quite frankly. As to what got me better, I had a sinus infection so it was z-pack antibiotics that killed it. Before that, I started out with a cold. It was nasty, but it was “just” a cold, and I was doing okay. When it hit my sinuses, though, that was a game changer.

Non-kinetic solutions to lawfare… explain? I’m not sure what you mean. 🙂

  2. Hi Hagar, glad to hear you’re on the upslope.

Re topic, dealer’s choice … You always seem to come out with something interesting. 🙂

Eta: Mrs B and I have had excellent results from NealMed sinus rinse. Amazing (the polite word) what can get flushed out of there. A tip if you try it … The solution can be heated up easily to a comfortable temperature by plunking the rinse bottle in a sink full of hot water, once you’ve dissolved the salts packet in distilled water.

    1. I’ve got education, Nikki Haley, and a workable Democratic candidate (imo) as topic ideas, so that should keep me going in the new year.

I use that stuff, too. It works extremely well. My problem was getting the sinuses clear enough to actually use it. I had a *massive* sinus infection, and I would pour the liquid in, and it came out my tear ducts. Let me tell you, that is NOT comfortable. LOL… I’m good now, though! As for temp, I boil the water the night before, so it’s appropriately ready, and then I heat it up right before it goes into my bottle. If it’s too warm, I have a container of cool boiled water that I can use to chill it down. Works a treat!

  3. Glad to hear you coming back to full strength. Topics of interest…. hmmm, how about your current opinion on Haley. You’ve voiced support for her in the past, so what do you think now, as we approach the home stretch to the election? And who should the democrats produce for a presidential candidate, should it be Biden or……?

    1. I have been wanting to write about Haley, but I’m aware that AWA tends to shy away from seeming to endorse anyone, and I’m pretty keen on her. I will see what I can write up, though, because a “farther left” view of her, along with commentary from my even more left friends, might be of use.

As for the dems… that’s actually a good idea. I’ll go look and see who’s worthy. I didn’t even bother before now, honestly… LOL! Maybe they have someone worthy. Doubt it, though. They’ll run Biden, which is just sad.

  4. Hagar, I sympathize with being under the weather. My house got hit with the Creeping Crud and we’re still in the middle of it.

Education in America is a topic I’m getting more and more interested in, especially at the K-5 public school level. Kids seem to need more knowledge to enter Kindergarten than when I was but a little sprog, but that higher required level sure doesn’t stick.

    1. Education seems to be something everyone has at least a passing interest in, so I’ll touch on that. I’m fairly middle on the topic, so I think it will be interesting.

As for getting over the crud, yeah, I’m pleased to be out of it. Finished the last of the antibiotics last night, thank heavens. Still coughing a bit, that nagging dry one, but I can deal with it.
