While some arrogant individuals in Berkeley proclaim a war on random beverages with sugar in them, I bet they would love a pantry stocked with organic juice and green tea if a huge earthquake struck our town. Michael Bloomberg is one of the funders of Measure D as some sort of vendetta because his soda initiatives failed in NYC.
Jesus Mike! Don’t mess with their organic Dr. Pepper!
Too funny! You just can’t make this stuff up folks!
Tax this, regulate that, social engineer behaivour, etc. Here’s a novel idea- bring back gym class! In our school district K thru 5 does NOT have gym class everyday. It’s not like when we were kids. And my personal favorite, the kids get 1% milk, because they’re so worried about fat, yet, the kids are bribed to drink it, by it being chocolate milk. Want to guess how much sugar is now in it??
Donna g
+1 on Donna… LOL…
So if I read this right, taxing drinks made with (added) sugar will reduce the number of recyclelable containers that flks otherwise unemployed can collect and turn in for money to live on, and force the closing of the Recycling Center that exists to pay those otherwise unemployed folks for their recycleables as well as a separate group of otherwise unemployed who run the Center.
Apparently no consideration has been given to the employed folks just buying more of other stuff without (added) sugar so that the otherwise unemployable can be kept off the unemployment lists. And not the first word about those otherwise unemployed earning a “living wage” from picking up recycleables!
Damned liberal hippies!
stay safe.
