With one simple floor tome, he did what 99.99% of drummers could not do with a 16 piece set.

Where a Hispanic Catholic, and a Computer Geek write about Gun Rights, Self Defense and whatever else we can think about.

Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

That was great, thanks!
When I saw your comment, I was sure that it was going to be Krupa. ❤️ My favorite drummer.
Check out Big Noise from Winnetka as well. It’s on ScrewTube.
Krupa was the first rock star drummer and still ranks in the upper echelon. Sing Sing Sing was written by Louis Prima and made famous by the Benny Goodman Orchestra. The live 1938 version at Carnegie Hall was a high point of the big band era and Krupa’s drum work here can only be described as epic.
If you never heard that version, here it is. It runs long, but is well worth a listen.
Wow.
I didn’t know that name at all. That was amazing. For one thing, I never thought of using drum sticks as percussion instruments. And it’s interesting to see him change his grip at several points.
I like Gene Krupa.
My answering machine message was once, “All operators are busy. Please wait for the first available operator.” followed by about the first 30 seconds of Gene Krupa and Lionel Hampton’s “Just You Just Me.”
My wife made me change it because people kept hanging up before they got to the beep.
