In the mind of the leftist, a shrill voice is enough to stop anyone from doing anything they do not like. Much like a parent will raise their voice, both in volume and pitch, to get their toddler to stop misbehaving. It worked on them when they were children, and they cannot comprehend that it might not work on everyone.
I think you have it backwards … the yelling is more like the toddler, making more and more of a fuss until the parent finally gives in and buys the toy / candy / whatever the little monster is demanding. (Rather than tucking said monster under the arm and heading outside so as to not inflict the tantrum upon all and sundry. But that’s a different conversation.)
