Somebody may have been thinking of Star Wars when writing the article:

New Boeing aircraft project travels from Brazil to Japan in 3 hours.

According to the company, it would be able to travel more than 6 thousand kilometers per hour, speed equivalent to five times the speed of light.

Don’t fret Brazilian SciFi Fan/Editor, one day Boeing will be able to build us some FTL ships.

Never stop dreaming… but just not on company time.

  1. I have a standing rule about flying foreign flag carriers, has to do with the quality of maintenance. One trip I was on in Brazil I flew on TAM, and in the inflight mag there was a page where they highlighted their fleet (obvious chest puffing). One thing that caught my eye in the translation was instead of saying flight time, it said fright time! 🙂

  2. That’s right up there with MSM “science” editors stating that 100 miles above the earth there is no gravity. Guess the moon (among other things) didn’t get the memo.
