Mob action is ALWAYS extremely dangerous. This is why we have police officers who MUST enforce the law evenhandedly. We as citizens have made a deal with government that we will forgo our right to private revenge in exchange for the government providing public justice. But that’s a DEAL, not a surrender. When the government repeatedly and conspicuously fails to provide that public justice, they’ve broken the deal and they open the door to this mob scene.
These Extinction Rebellion idiots have done what they done because they were pretty much being insulated by London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan who while not too overtly a supporter, he did smile at their antics and waved them off. But s usual, the radical elements never maintain but escalate their level of action and when it affects the lifeblood of the City, the Mayor suddenly does not find them amusing anymore. Since one the “tubes” affected was the one doing transportation to London’s financial district, I wonder how many angry call he got from CEOs complaining about their workforce being stuck in the stations because idiots wanted to play with crazy glue and bedazzle themselves against the wagons.
I am not a big proponent of Mob Justice and you may have read some about how much I dislike lynchings. It is nothing more than fast satisfaction at the very real risk of destroying the basic fabric of society. And truthfully, a long-lasting punishment is a better volution than a quick death or hospital stay. The problem is the Law will probably give them a slap in the wrist and send them free thus encouraging future bad behavior.
I hope that more police intervention managed to calm down people, but I don’t see it happening. As I said in the post before this, I fear Extinction Rebellion may increase their antics and we will have blood spilled. And why not? Their belief is we are in a fixed countdown of about a decade and we are gonna die anyway if their dogma is not implemented.
Of course, the claim will be that the extinction idiots were just having a peaceful protest, and were attacked without justification. All the commuters had to do was wait a few minutes. What is the problem that they got to work a little later than normal? It is nothing compared to the end of the world.
The simplest solution is for the trains to continue operating. If you don’t want to get hurt when the train starts, don’t climb onto its roof.

One day soon, Antifa in Portland will kill some Trump supporter, or at least put him in the hospital in a coma. The police will do nothing about it.
Then, the next time Antifa gather, they are going to get mowed down by some alt-righters with AR-15’s.
