Under Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s proposed, gun shops in Chicago could not be located within 500 feet of a school or park – limiting them to very small pockets of the city covering less than .5 percent of Chicago.
The shops would have to install exterior lighting, surveillance cameras, and alarm systems, and provide secure storage of guns and ammunition. Police would have to approve a store’s security plan before it could open.
Cameras would have to record all sales of guns, and shops would not be allowed to sell more than one handgun per month to a single customer.
Ald. Walter Burnett Jr. (27th) said the regulations are a good start.

Total impact on reducing crime in the city = 0%
But it make Emmanuel look butch.
Juvenile, passive-aggressive and, typical narcissistic politician.
Nuts. Just nuts.
You’d have to accept there was a possibility of someone walking out of a gun store and spontaneously deciding to shoot up a school or park. Otherwise, the Creepy Ballerina’s law makes no sense, unless he’s deliberately trying to restrict the RKBA.
What are the odds…. .
Those requirements are a complete wet dream. If they ever went in, there wouldn’t *BE* any stores…
“Police would have to approve a store’s security plan before it could open”
That’s the defacto gateway and they’d never allow store to open; no store would have an adequate security plan…
That’s the point, to prevent any stores from opening. At least one of those requirements are in violation of state law though.
Tiny dancer can FOAD. Chicago deserves what they voted for. They need to build a fence around the whole place and throw guns and ammo over the fence until the problem solves itself.

[…] This is why we need some good evasion doctrine when it comes to the Second Amendment. Most of the stuff these people propose is shamelessly intended to evade the court’s constitutional pronouncements. […]
