The Prime Minister locked the whole country down.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has urged everyone in New Zealand to “act like you have Covid-19”, hours before a stringent lockdown lasting at least four weeks is imposed across the country.
Ardern warned that those violating compulsory stay-at-home rules would face “no tolerance”.
“We will not hesitate to use our enforcement powers if needed,” she said, as the nation of almost 5 million people prepared for measures tougher than those in many other countries.

A virus never truly goes away. Small Pox and Polio still exist and kill people in this world.

Just a nit, but Janet Parker was the last person to die of smallpox back in 1978, after that all (officially) known samples of smallpox were destroyed or were shipped to either the CDC lab in the US or VECTOR in the Soviet Union. I’m pretty sure the Army has some in Fredrick, MD and we know the Soviets were working on weaponizing it. Wouldn’t surprise me if the Chinese have some and I doubt the French gave up all theirs. But there have been no known cases since 1978.

Point is, the virus is not going to go the way of smallpox anytime soon. The virus is out there, and people will continue to catch it.

And since the subjects of New Zealand have no way to push back against the totalitarian dictator of their country (because they have no weapons) they cannot protest openly either…How convenient….Forget about ever visiting there!
How many suicides, overdoses, and dead from domestic abuse will they have during this lockdown and aftermath?
