Manhattan buildings for super rich hire armed guards for possible Election Day unrest
New York’s ultra rich are quietly preparing for civil unrest on Election Day — by hiring armed guards to stand watch over their luxury Manhattan buildings.
At the Time Warner Center on Columbus Circle, where the penthouse is going for $62.5 million, managers are deploying off duty cops with “submachine guns” to stand watch, while other wealthy city enclaves are also beefing up protection for residents.
“Everybody is worried about security,” an insider told the Post. “Every top building is adding security. It’s out of control. We hope it won’t be needed, but we will be ready.”
The building is working with the NYPD and Homeland Security, the insider said.
“There will be officers with submachine guns,” the source said. “We’ve always had immense security, but there will be more. We’ll have extra patrols. The entire building can be shut down with one button.”
The Time Warner building isn’t the only one. Buildings for the elite of the NY financial world such as 220 Central Park and South 432 Park Ave, as well as buildings full of celebrities such as Greenwich Lane have hired off-duty police and others who can legally carry guns to provide defense.
Aint that a fucking hoot. The average resident of New York City can barely get a gun legally to defend him or herself from rioters and looters but the millionaires and billionaires of the city can hire guards with actual machineguns.
This is exactly why burdensome gun laws are immoral. They lead to corruption where the riffraff cannot afford the fees, bribes, and palm-greasing to legally obtain the tools they need to defend themselves. While the rich and well connected can ensure their safety by opening their wallets to the right people.
But buildings full of cops and contractors are not the only preparations.

Now, why would they need to do that if Biden is going to win?
Because deep down in their hearts they suspect that he won’t and Antifa/BLM/the radical Left is going to absolutely lose their shit and riot to a degree that no American city as seen yet.
Portland, Seattle, previous riots in NYC, Chicago, and other cities have just been a dress rehearsal for the real #Resistancec if Trump wins.
People confident in Biden’s winning poll numbers wouldn’t be preparing for the city to come under siege.
The reality is that the wealthy elite and business owners are prepping like it’s the opening credits for The Purge.
Consider how some cities react when their sports team is in the playoffs – win or loses there’s gonna be a riot. Arguably worse if their team wins.
In this case – Biden loses and the BLM/Antifa/* are enraged. Biden wins and they are emboldened. Either way, the average person is going to want to brace for it.
Heck, whether or not we know a result in a couple of days, they’re likely going to riot.
I’m torn, because while it’s good news for us if Trump wins, I really don’t want there to be any more riots, even if some of the residents deserve it. Many there don’t, but unfortunately they are going to be in the crossfire.
There’s an old saying: “Good judgment comes from experience; experience comes from bad judgment”.
Some people can learn from lessons (from theory). Others need the practical experience of the consequences of bad judgment. So while they may not “deserve” it, they may need it in order for the lesson to have effect.
(There is the “pilot’s and skydiver’s addendum” to that saying: “…provided you survive the bad judgment.)
But guys! Some trump supporters were on the interstate at the exact same time as a Biden campaign bus! That’s totes a sign that trump is a violent dictator with brownshirts!
Call me old fashioned, but I would think TPTB would know something’s up. It’s not like the left has been coy about it.
I’d expect to see an APC or three with some soldiers.
I heard our Lt. Governor on the radio the other day. I’m guessing in Texas this kind of thing will be shutdown pretty fast.

Super Bowl, 2013. Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers.
Ravens fans in Baltimore rioted, destroying a sizable portion of the town.
Because their team won.
(To be fair, 49ers fans rioted, too. But SF was prepared for the unrest so the damages were somewhat mitigated.)
There’s no way to tell whether the riots will be worse if Trump wins or if Harris/Biden wins. But it’s safe to say the damages will be immense either way.
The riots are definitely happening either way. They’ve already been planned.
I suppose it’s possible that the local authorities believe the “violent Trump supporters” myth.
Around here they certainly do.
Antifa/BLM, hurling rocks and firebombs and IEDs, smashing windows, looting, attacking vehicles, assaulting bystanders and journalists, and threatening everyone who’s not marching with them? “Peaceful protesters”.
Peaceable gun owners, putting on a rally, cleaning up after themselves, patronizing local businesses (and tipping well!), and generally behaving like civilized people? “Trump-voting violent right-wing extremists”.
That does seem to be what the authorities believe.
Ask the cops on the ground (off the record), and you’ll get a different story: They’d rather monitor the “violent Trump supporter” events than the “peaceful protests” any day of the week, and twice on Sundays.
I was thinking more about what they actually believe — not what they say for propaganda purposes.
I have no doubt some of them actually believe it. There were Russian believers in Communism even under and after Stalin.
