CNBC’s Shep Smith to Dr. Fauci: “Why can’t we” impose "an 111-day lockdown" like Melbourne? pic.twitter.com/OA9nvOBDc9

Yes, all 330 million Americans are bad, selfish people because locking an entire country in their homes, except for a few approved essential activities, for four months, with the threat of arrest for non-compliance is remotely possible or reasonable.
“15 days to slow the spread” has turned into most of the year and “until there are no new cases.”
This is crap. We slow the spread with a lockdown and as soon as it’s lifted it spreads again.
I’m expecting news from the future to be:
“October 2023, to prevent a COVID 12th wave, the government has ordered a Stage 6 lockdown. No one will be allowed to leave their home for any reason. The government has contracted with Amazon Prime to provide drone delivery of food and necessity rations to all Americans. In other news, Jeff Bezos is the first person to become a trillionaire.”
This COVID fear porn shit has gotten out of control.
I would have thought Shepard Smith has some faint understanding of the Constitution, given that he once worked at Fox. Apparently he had to erase that part of his brain when he went to work for NBC.
My understanding is his show on CNBC is at the bottom of the news ratings for the fake news networks. As in, literally the least watched show, even lower than Fredo’s show. Sounds like he was a liberal shill masquerading as some type of pseudo conservative during his time at Fox, and his true statist colors have come out. I can’t wrap my head around why so many people like him are desperate for the government to micro-manage their lives and instruct them how to live. But here we are.
I supported the “shutdown” at first, because what little we knew indicated this was a BAD disease. But since then we’ve learned that it’s only bad for a limited vulnerable population, and there are multiple cheap, simple therapies. The biggest death tolls appear to come from poor case management — putting the sick in the middle of vulnerable populations like NY, MI, and others.
And the reality is it’s a new virus no one’s been exposed to. There may be some immunity that comes from being exposed to related viruses, but, generally, no one had ever been exposed to this before late last year.
So EVERYONE is going to get it at some point. It’s time to accept that, do what we can for the vulnerable people, and get back to normal.
Press and politicians who insist on making it out to be worse than it is — and especially those who do things like ban medications for political reasons — need to be brought up for practicing medicine without a license. Public health officials who can’t let go of their power need to be removed, and the authority of those offices pared back. Thugs like Whitmer need jail time to drive home the point.
Public health organizations need to be refocused away from behavior to infectious diseases again. Everyone who signed onto the “racism is a public health crisis” BS needs to be barred from ever serving in any government role outside of waste handling and processing.
Sad part is there are still a bunch of DUMB people who believe all the bullshiite that we have been fed
Sadder still is the fact that j.kb is unfortunately correct. The shutdowns will continue until there are no new cases. (A case is testing positive for the virus, not actually getting sick or requiring medical care.)
Until this virus is fully eradicated from the planet, no one is allowed to have any freedom whatsoever. See. Simple.
