Another step in the death of the constitution
There was an “old” Batman comic (pre-woke) were the Joker said he pays taxes on his stolen goods because he’s not insane enough to mess with the IRS.
Once upon a time, there was a line on the 1040 for illegal income. That was replaced many years back with “other income; state nature and source” or some such, which seems to have morphed into a line for “other income from schedule (mumble)”, which I don’t normally see because I don’t fill out the forms by hand nowadays.
Can you claim ammo, ski masks, and burglary tools as business expenses? Asking for a friend.

I thought there was a Supreme Court case a couple of decades ago that ruled requiring criminals to report ill-gotten gains was a violation of the 5th amendment against self-incrimination?
