Wait, what? Nobody bought guns since the election? Damn, that is gonna be upsetting to the people I know who did buy guns. Why don’t we read the article and see if we can figure out what’s going on.

“The gun run appears to have jammed.

In the five full months since Donald Trump was elected president, the FBI has undertaken 1.6 million fewer firearm background checks compared with the same period a year earlier, government statistics show, reflecting slower sales.”

Wait, “jammed sales’ and “stopped buying” actually means “yes, guns were sold, just not as many.” And the article fails to mention that during the November-March period and according to the same government statistics, some seven million firearms were sold. Hardly a jam or a stoppage in sales.

Basically since the Election, enough guns were bought to supply every LEO and active Military personnel in the US…twice.

Liberals can’t do math…or lie about it.

  1. The near ascendancy of Hillary caused a panic bubble. That went bust. The market has returned to a pre bubble state. There was a dip after the bubble bust, but that is normal.

These idiots are the same people who didn’t get why houses exploding in value than going underwater was a bubble. They have no grasp of economics.

  2. I just saw a DPMS Oracle AR – a sold “beginner’s AR” – no optics for $369. That’s a fine rifle. .22 is down to 6c/round or slightly under. 9mm is $10/box. 223 is 35cents/round. .22 is way more than before the “crisis”, but I don’t think we’ll see 4c/round again. That’s looking more and more like $1/gal gas.

We appear to be in a slight glut right now, also known as a buyer’s market. Unfortunately, none of the guns on my current wish list are on sale.

    1. Oracle AR? I guess it’s better than a DB2 AR, which would jam after every shot, or an MS SQL AR, which would have to be taken apart every month for security patches.

  3. Don’t forget to note that Barach Hussein Obama will long be lauded as being the best gun salesman ever, and that Hillary Rodham Clinton would have been working to take that title from him!
Hence an acceleration of gun purchases by those right minded persons who would lawfully purchase guns as a defensive measure against disarmament.

  4. There’s a simple explanation that accounts for both their statement and that gun sales have not really fallen. They don’t consider us people.

  5. Called it. We knew that they would try to spin the post bubble slowdown as a decline in the gun culture. Never mind the year over year increases in sales, or the massive growth in other areas (Like ammo sales). Find the one spot where the market shrank, and headline that.

  6. I’ve bought 3 since the election. Savage Axis .308 WIN, a Savage 64F now that .22LR ammo is around again and I restored a barreled action of a Lee Enfield 1918 SMLE MKIII* back to original condition. OK, so I didn’t really buy it, I traded for the action.

  7. A rule of thumb is if it comes from NYC, no matter what it is, it’s probably fake, ignorant, or stupid. This “newspaper” is a perfect example.
