OC no Alabama

According to the OP, this picture was taken in Alexander City, Alabama

I am just gonna quote Redditor 9mmIsBestMillimeter:

Fine with me and I don’t blame them.

Keep it concealed and if you want to do a political “demonstration” do it on public property, not in some poor bastard’s restaurant where he’s just trying to sell some fucking food and make a living and doesn’t want his customers scared off by jackasses with ARs.

Succinct.

  1. I have a concealed carry permit and I don’t have a problem with open carry. Except when someone is walking around like a jack ass with a black rifle (I will not call it an assault weapon) or shotgun. We weren’t having problems before these idiots stated running their mouths and running around with rifles and scaring people. Yes I said scaring people, sorry not everyone is comfortable with guns around them. This only reenforces the argument for concealed carry, no one except you knows your carrying!

  2. I Open Carry during the Summer regularly. Saying that I really do understand why we are seeing these type signs. I understand that some are not comfortable with folks they don’t know openly carrying a weapon in their shop. That can however be overcome by respect and dialog with those owners and mangers most of the time.
However an encounter with one loose cannon open carrying with the it’s my right so I will carry when where and how I want and F you if you don’t like it attitude can forever put a shop owner off on allowing open carry in his business.
I Open Carry regularly a full size auto in a good holster and so far never had a single issue of a shop owner or manager asking me to cover or leave. However if asked to do one or the other would respectfully comply. Bottom line here is we have to be smart and respectful of others in what we do when carrying if we want to keep the rights to do so.
