From the New Orleans Saints:
UNIFORMITY: Every Saints player had the name “Jacob Blake” on the front his helmet, where his last name usually would be, to continue spotlighting Blake, who was shot in the back seven times by police on Tuesday in Kenosha, Wis. Players and Coach Sean Payton collectively came up with the idea Wednesday night and said while there was no discussion of canceling practice, there is ongoing discussion as to what players – individually or collectively – will do to continue shedding light on systemic racism, police brutality, social justice and several other initiatives that are areas of heightened concern.
Putting the name of a girlfriend beating rapist and sex offender on their helmets is in brand for the NFL since they also put the names of girlfriend beating rapists and sex offenders on the backs of their jerseys too.
I am now an ex-Saints fan. They are pandering, plain n simple to the worse of their fan base.
Jo Ann, I never was an ‘aints’ fan but certainly will never be now.
I wonder if ANY team would DARE to put Cannon Hinnant on their helmets.
Can you imagine if someone came out with “Aaron Danielson” or “Jay Bishop” on his helmet?
I regret that I cannot boycott the NFL and NBA any harder than I already do.
I guess we could pay people to not go to games, maybe?
And the number of people who have had their opinions changed as a result of this action remains a solid zero.
And let us not forget that two of the three “initiatives” mentioned, Systemic Racism, Police Brutality and Social Justice are myths invented by the fascist left. Police IS a reality but not nearly to the degree claimed by blm/antifa. The other two items are pure leftist myths.
