Note to self (again): get a dash cam…
One of those clips reminded of the “Fiji passing maneuver” I learned on my one and only visit to that place. I was driving a rental car on the main road of the main island (a narrow two-lane country road). Driving on the left, for the first time in my life. Going along at around 50 mph, the speed limit.
I see a car coming towards me, then another car pulls out from behind it into my lane to pass. Oh boy. He flashes his headlights at me. The car being passed moves over onto the shoulder, and I figure out that this is the protocol, I’m supposed to do the same. Manage to do that just in time (towards the left not right), and the passing car squeezes through between me and the other car, on the middle of the road.
The video at 0:55 looked just like that except that he didn’t get it to work right.
Too much vodka…..
