No sh*t CNN, everyone has noticed this, you just refuse to put your finger on the cause

The US saw significant crime rise across major cities in 2020. And it’s not letting up

Major American cities saw a 33% increase in homicides last year as a pandemic swept across the country, millions of people joined protests against racial injustice and police brutality, and the economy collapsed under the weight of the pandemic — a crime surge that has continued into the first quarter of this year.

Sixty-three of the 66 largest police jurisdictions saw increases in at least one category of violent crimes in 2020, which include homicide, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault, according to a report produced by the Major Cities Chiefs Association. Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Raleigh, North Carolina, did not report increases in any of the violent crime categories.

It’s nearly impossible to attribute any year-to-year change in violent crime statistics to any single factor, and homicides and shootings are an intensely local phenomenon that can spike for dozens of reasons. But the increase in homicide rates across the country is both historic and far-reaching, as were the pandemic and social movements that touched every part of society last year.

Experts point to a “perfect storm” of factors — economic collapse, social anxiety because of a pandemic, de-policing in major cities after protests that called for abolition of police departments, shifts in police resources from neighborhoods to downtown areas because of those protests, and the release of criminal defendants pretrial or before sentences were completed to reduce risk of Covid-19 spread in jails — all may have contributed to the spike in homicides.

In the wake of several protest movements following the killings of Black Americans by police — such as Gray in Baltimore or Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri — there was a deliberate drawback of policing in some communities. Both Ferguson and Baltimore are case studies in examining the influence of de-policing on crime rates, as both cities experienced an increase in violence and a strained relationship between police and communities immediately following the killings.

The sectors of the criminal justice system that hold people accountable for their crimes have been severely impacted by Covid-19, experts say.
Jails, prisons and correctional facilities became hotspots for Covid-19 outbreaks among inmates and staff members, prompting some officials to aggressively reduce populations and suspend intake of new detainees.
Court systems that were notoriously overcrowded were forced to shut down, postpone or cancel proceedings altogether. State and local jury trials were severely limited in order to limit in-person interactions. Prosecutors also had to adapt in how they pursued cases.

None of this was directly the fault of COVID.

It was all the fault of terrible Progressive political responses to COVID.

The economic downturn was the fault of governments imposing useless lockdowns that started with the “15 days to slow the spread” and went on for over a year.

It was Progressive politicians who had the police stand down in the face of riots and progressive prosecutors who dropped or reduced charges against Antifa and organized rioters, sometimes en masse.

It was Progressive politicians and judges that turned COVID into a “get out of jail free card” and it Progressive prosecutors, politicians, and judges who created a bail reform policy that was also effectively “if you’re too poor for bail, just say so and we’ll let you out for free.”

It wasn’t COVID, it was Progressives responding to COVID and social unrest that did this.

CNN just can’t place the blame where it belongs, so they blame COVID like a nebulous miasma, instead of directly on the Progressives and the policies they enacted.

The Left undid four years of the Trump economy and twenty years of crime reduction.

Poland vs. the Pacific Northwest

This Tweet from the Polish Ambassador to the United States:

That statue is a memorial to the Polish soldiers murdered in the Katyn Forest, it was created by the Polish immigrant artist Andrzej Pitynski.

It is of a Polish Army officer being bayonetted through the back by a Mosin-Nagant.

There is another Katyn Forest monument in Warsaw that is even more striking.

This statue, on the other hand, was rescued from the collapsing USSR, and installed in Seattle.

The Poles teach the history of Communism in their country.  They build memorials for those who were murdered by it.

The Poles hate Communism and advocacy for Communism/Socialism in Poland is a jailable offense.

In the urban areas of the Pacific Northwest, I’m almost positive having a Socialist rose emoji in your Twitter or Facebook profile is a requirement.

They teach Socialism and Communism positively up there.

Seattle and Portland are where Antifa and Socialist activists are trying to start a Socialist revolution and have actually created Socialist autonomist zones (at least temporarily).

Those who teach the truth about Socialism and Communism fight to make sure it never happens again.

Those who are not are trying to make it happen again.

Be more like Poland and less like Portland and Seattle.

The future of America depends on it.

Hint: this means your “art” isn’t art

Couple mistakenly vandalizes $440,000 painting at exhibition

An art piece by an American graffiti artist showcased in South Korea was damaged by a couple in their 20s who thought the sets of paint and brushes laid in front of the artwork was for spectators’ use.

Staff at the gallery exhibition noticed new brush strokes on the wall — small swipes of dark green to the right of center — last Sunday. After checking the security camera, two suspects were taken by the police for investigation.

“We called the police immediately and talked to the insurance company for the damaged artwork,” Kang Wook, the CEO of Contents Creator of Culture, co-organizer of the exhibition, told ABC News. “But as the agency in charge, we will do best to minimize the harm to the couple who unintentionally vandalized the work.”

JonOne completed the artwork in question during a graffiti museum show, “The Great Graffiti,” in Seoul Arts Center at the time. When the piece was complete, it was displayed along with the props used by the artist, in the same way the display is on now.

“The paint and brushes used by the artist comprise a complete set with the graffiti canvas work,” said Kang. He explained that the props were part of the exhibition to help highlight the history of the artist’s work.

“Due to the characteristics of contemporary art, there will be many happenings like these going forward. Exhibit organizers must take extra care in physically protecting the artwork, as the audience may mistake the art like that of JonOne’s to something they can scribble on,” Ha Jae-geun, a Korean pop culture expert, told ABC News.

If your art looks like and is presented like something that random people made by smearing paint on it, then it isn’t art.

If you don’t agree with me, fuck you.  I am an absolutist.

Nobody would walk up to a Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Bosch, or Botticelli (you can tell I like High Renaissance and Baroque paintings) and think “I should add my own personal touch to this.”

Fuck this guy and his art.

The corporate shakedown is going to get way worse

Keith Olbermann is a piece of shit.

But this is the way this is going to go.

MLB pulled the All-Star game from Atlanta.

Hollywood had threatened to pull projects out of Georgia as well.  They did the same thing in 2019 over the Georgia heartbeat abortion bill.

Right now it’s just specific bills they are complaining about, but I can tell you where the megacorporations are going to go next, because Biden and the radical Left controls the DOJ and they won’t do anything about it.

Corporations are going to come out and say “It this state elects a Republican for Senator/Governor/Member of Congress/etc. we are going to close up shop here, lay everyone off, and move somewhere else.”

They will be naked in their protection racket-type threats to influence voting by threatening states with economic repercussions.
