Yes, yes, yes, Antifa are the good guys.  They are “mostly peaceful” and it’s white supremacists who are the problem.  Centrists and others who can’t tell the difference are just stupid.

I am not going to defend white supremacists for an instant.

Let me just say that white supremacists do not represent Conservatives or are not the extreme wing of the Right, the way Antifa represents Progressives or are the extreme wing of the Left.

I want to focus on the part “So if the right was exactly “as violent as Antifa and BLM”, America would be a much safer place.”

That’s the Multnomah County Sheriff, not exactly a Right-winger himself.

If Portland is Antifa’s Capital, Seattle is their second city.  What do the people there think?

 

According to the aforementioned meme, only Nazis want to kill people for their political views and Antifa is trying to stop them.  A business owner signed a letter to the mayor about the problems in the city and Antifa delivers him his own personal Kristallnacht.

As of July, in Portland alone, riots cost the city $23 million.  I can only imagine how much more it’s been since then.  I just can’t find more recent numbers.  It’s gotten so bad Portland businesses can’t get insurance anymore.

As of September, the total nationwide for riot damage was $2 billion.

It’s continued.  Antifa has done this to Portland, Seattle, and city after city where they’ve been allowed to riot with minimal pushback week after week for months.

 

Conservatives, the Right, Trump supporters, have not wrecked the economies of the downtown business centers of major US cities.

We have not cost the nation billions in lost revenue and damages.

We have not destroyed the livelihoods of small business owners.

The Left has done that.

But you are to ignore all of that because some study can put 329 bodies on the right but none on the Left.

So when Antifa comes marching through your town, burning and looting, destroying business, and turning your popular business and restaurant district into an economically unviable area of broken glass and graffiti, you should it was Leftists and the Right-wingers who came through.

Who are you going to believe is worse for your city, a study or your lying eyes?

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is overriding the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which made a surprise announcement Tuesday that any distillery that switched to producing hand sanitizer this year during the pandemic will owe thousands of dollars in fees and could be charged twice if they do not cease production immediately.

HHS Chief of Staff Brian Harrison announced Thursday: “Small businesses who stepped up to fight COVID-19 should be applauded by their government, not taxed for doing so. I’m pleased to announce we have directed FDA to cease enforcement of these arbitrary, surprise user fees. Happy New Year, distilleries, and cheers to you for helping keep us safe!”

We took a little road trip…

It was a very nice re-visit. The last time we were here, 9/11 was not even in the horizon and the whole exhibit took you but 25-30 minutes.

I will do the AAR later with some pics that came out decent, a bunch of them did not and it was my fault for leaving the cam in auto rather than force low light.

And I saw something that made me smile: you guys know I always donate some to Wreaths Across America and it was great to see them at the SEaL Memorial wall.

I believe the data in the US would be the same.

An empty hospital bed, like an empty semi-trailer or empty cab, makes no money.

So hospitals don’t normally sit empty, the size the hospital is intended to match the needs of the community with a little wiggle room in case of emergencies.

You are not going to build a 1,000-bed hospital and have 700 beds just sit chronically empty, that’s throwing money away.

See that big dip in March-April?  That’s when we were told that hospitals were needed for the COVID surge and not to go unless it’s an emergency.

This explains why this year we saw HUGE layoffs in hospitals, which has not recovered.

Because the media says “hospitals are near capacity” without saying “hospitals are always near capacity” means that everyone who doesn’t have COVID or an emergency doesn’t go to the hospital.

My mom needs joint surgery and it’s been postponed since the spring.  She’s in terrible pain but can’t get surgery scheduled because of COVID.

The malfeasance here by the media, medical workers, and hospital administrations that haven’t explained the reality is a crime against humanity.

People are dying of cancer, heart disease, organ failure, and other progressive conditions believing that they can’t get treatment because there is no room in hospitals, but the reality is our hospitals are at or below normal operating capacity because being 85% full is how they break even and 90% full is profit.

I saw Miguel’s post on Mayor Ted Wheeler’s response to Antifa’s rioting on New Years.

Here is video from the riots.

The police are retreating.

They are using large volume pepper spray and pepper balls against the crowd and the crowd keeps advancing.

After a year, these rioters are battle-hardened professionals.  They are immune to pepper spray and pepper balls.  They are not phased by it anymore.  Shields, armor, masks, umbrellas, they know how to avoid being brought down by less-lethal munitions.

They are throwing Molotov cocktails and IEDs.  They are bringing lethal mele weapons to the fight.

They are advancing while the police are retreating because they know that the police response is limited by the Leftists in charge of the city.

Mayor Wheeler can say whatever he wants about it being time to get tough, but as long as the police can only use seasoning while having incendiary and explosive devices thrown at them, nothing will turn around.

This is not a police action.  This is a war.  The other side knows it.

There is only one way to stop this.  The police must be authorized to use lethal force.

When the crowd starts to push against the police like a Roman phalanx, the police should shoot through the shields with 62 grain 5.56.

Anything short of that is ineffective.

Since that will never be authorized, the police should listen to Antifa and just quit.

It’s not worth being maimed to killed trying to uselessly defend yourself and a city that elects a Mayor that hamstrings police.

Either shoot Antifa or surrender and walk away.
