Makes sense if they have a place to live outside the capital. But I wonder how many actually made it out of town and how many were forced to go back because they got caught outside after the curfew.

And that would be almost 500 miles worth of traffic jams. Imagine how sick and tired people are at all these government impositions that they rather face the traffic jam from hell rather than stay in the City of Lights.

The Intercept appears to be some online media outlet that swings left in what little I just perused of it. In their about page, they seem to be defiant and willing to do what’s right.

Glenn Greenwald, one the founders, just quit because he got one of his stories censored. What was the story about?

The final, precipitating cause is that The Intercept’s editors, in violation of my contractual right of editorial freedom, censored an article I wrote this week, refusing to publish it unless I remove all sections critical of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, the candidate vehemently supported by all New-York-based Intercept editors involved in this effort at suppression.

The censored article, based on recently revealed emails and witness testimony, raised critical questions about Biden’s conduct. Not content to simply prevent publication of this article at the media outlet I co-founded, these Intercept editors also demanded that I refrain from exercising a separate contractual right to publish this article with any other publication.

I guess The Intercept does have problems holding the powerful accountable if he happen to be running for President of the United States with a “D” attached to his name.

But modern media outlets do not air dissent; they quash it. So censorship of my article, rather than engagement with it, was the path these Biden-supporting editors chose.

And Mr. Greenwald just discovered water is wet and his ideological fellows are the true fascists of the world.  He is now Enemy of the People.

This one I have to fisk a little.

Russian film crew attacked in Philadelphia just ONE day after embassy warns about safety of journalists working in US

The treatment of journalists in the US is again under the spotlight after Russian correspondent Georgy Olisashvili and his cameraman were attacked on the streets of Philadelphia, and received minimal support from the police.

I do believe Russia has a long-standing tradition of the same type of treatment, but it usually comes from the government. You should be used to it, tovarisch.

The assault comes just a day after the Russian Embassy in Washington warned journalists to remain vigilant, following the interrogation of an RT reporter at a New York City airport by US security services. The embassy recommended that Russian media workers in the country “keep in mind the bias of the US authorities against them.”

So, if you were warned, what are you crying about, pizda? You pay your monies, you take your chances.

According to Olisashvili, who works for Russia’s Channel One, they were approached by a group of “very aggressive guys,” who robbed them of their video camera. Olisashvili’s operator, Maxim Kataev, suffered a concussion after being hit multiple times in the head and neck. Despite contacting the police, Olisashvili says that officers refused to go to the scene of the crime, and would only let them file a report.

Awww. yes, the cops were supposed to drop the containment of a full blown riot, just to check the booboos of your already-warned-not-to-fuck-around cameraman and send a SWAT team to recover your property from…who?  “Very aggressive guys” is not the best description that can be used to locate your attackers, you got that, tovarisch?

And the rest is just filler and bitching about a Russian journo questioned by the feds. So, I only have one more thing to say to the people of RT:

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia City Council passed a ban Thursday on police use of “less than lethal” force on protesters and demonstrators stemming from the incidents back in the spring following the death of George Floyd.
The ban means law enforcement in Philadelphia is no longer permitted to use supplies like tear gas, pepper spray, and rubber bullets when people are exercising their First Amendment rights.
City Council pointed out that Philadelphia now becomes the largest city in the United States to pass such a ban.

Whatever little streaming has been available, shows most cops with barely helmets and no other kind of riot protection. Police Chief Danielle ( I fucked up in Portland too!) Outlaw apparently has not allowed her officers to use tear gas and Less Lethal even when the city was being looted, burned and bombed by BLM “exercising” their First Amendment Rights for the last three days.

And why I have the nagging suspicion that we will see riots starting early in Election Day? I would not be surprised if certain neighborhoods where Blue is not the majority will be targeted.

I know, I am putting the tin foil hat back in the rack.

We just need to dress Dr. Fauci in a kimono and invest in Taco Bell shares and rat burgers.

State trooper dates Cuomo’s daughter, gets transferred close to Canada

A state trooper assigned to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s security detail got hot and heavy with one of New York’s first daughters — and was soon transferred to a post near the Canadian border, The Post has learned.

Trooper Dane Pfeiffer, 35, met Cara Kennedy-Cuomo, 25, through his job as one of her dad’s bodyguards, sources said.

They began dating about seven months ago — after she moved into the Executive Mansion in Albany due to the coronavirus pandemic — and Cuomo learned about the relationship a short time later, sources said.

On May 24, Pfeiffer requested a “voluntary transfer” to Troop B in northeastern New York, a state police spokesman said. Pfeiffer began his career there after graduating from the State Police Academy in 2015, records show.

“He was transferred to keep him away from the daughter because the governor didn’t like whatever they were doing,” a source familiar with the situation said.

The move failed to cool the couple’s ardor and Pfeiffer routinely returns to the Executive Mansion to pick up Kennedy-Cuomo for dates, further upsetting the governor, a source said.

Pfeiffer wasn’t found to have committed misconduct and his transfer to a state police station in Plattsburgh — about 160 miles north of the Capitol, and about 25 miles south of the Canadian border — didn’t go on his record as official discipline, sources said.

Cuomo “is limited in how much he can screw with him, so highway therapy is one of his few options,” a source said.

Highway Therapy is an informal punishment where the officer is transferred to a duty station a very long way from his residence so that he has a multi-hour commute each way every day.

Cuomo is just a petty mob boss who runs his state like the incompetent, entitled son of the Don who inherited the empire but has no idea how to run it and doesn’t have to respect of anyone else in the mob.   Which is precisely what he is.

Add to this that Cuomo is decidedly anti-cop so his daughter dating one he probably takes as an insult.

For what it’s worth I really hope Trooper Pfeiffer hog-slammed the shit out of her in the official residence, right on the governor’s bed while the governor was attending some official function.

I’m sure that Trooper Pfeiffer also will never need to buy another beer at a cop bar ever again.
