Beat a woman, get shot, cash out
Miguel sent me this obscenity because he wants to test my blood pressure.
Yes, you read that right.
As of the time I grabbed this screen capture, Jacob Blake’s GoFundMe has netted more than $1.3 million.
Here is the text of that GoFundMe:
On August 23rd my son was shot multiple times in the back by a Kenosha Police Department officer, after my son broke up an altercation by an unrelated party. The shooting has now left my son critically injured as he fights for his life. The extent of my son’s injuries is unknown, but we remain prayerful as he continues to undergo multiple rounds of operations to save his life. This fund is established to cover my son’s medical expenses, mental and grief counseling for our family and to assist our family in the days to come, as we continue to seek justice for Jacob. A portion of these proceeds will also be used to benefit my son’s six children, some of whom witnessed this horrific act of violence. Officers are sent to Blake’s address for a complaint of “family trouble.” A dispatcher notifies officers that a woman called police and said Blake “isn’t supposed to be there and he took the complainant’s keys and is refusing to give them back.”
The dispatcher tells officers that there’s an alert for a person wanted for some reason, known in police radio code as a 10-99, at that address. Blake had a warrant issued for his arrest stemming from a domestic case in May.
In Wisconsin, a Code 10-99 is “records indicate wanted or stolen.”
So police get a call from dispatch that says Blake has taken a woman’s keys, at a resident he’s not supposed to be at, after a previous domestic violence incident, and has an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
The shooting then unfolds and is captured on video. Interpret Blake’s actions as you will, either trying to get into his car after police tell him to stop, or looking like he’s trying to get something – assumed to be a weapon – out of his car after police tell him to stop.
Either way, he wasn’t an innocent third party, he was the assailant in a domestic violence incident who resisted arrest.
Now he’s collecting $1.3 million at least, maybe the full $2 million, possibly more. Minus whatever that sleaze bag Ben Crump skims off the top.
Once upon a time, you had to be a rapper to cash out off getting shot by the cops.
Now all you have to do is assault women and resist arrest and you too can be a millionaire.
