PALM HARBOR, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man is now facing a manslaughter charge after he pointed what he thought was an unloaded rifle at his friend and shot him in the chest, police said.
Shea Michael Harkins was in a bedroom of a home on Thursday night when he picked up a Colt M4 rifle that he had been customizing and pointed it at Sean Cook, 26, Pinellas County Sheriff’s investigators said.
The friends had been playing video games at Harkins’ house, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
Harkins, 26, told deputies he pointed the gun at his friend as a joke, officials said. He told investigators that Cook said, “What are you going to do, shoot me?”
He pulled the trigger, thinking the rifle was unloaded. However there was a round in the chamber, deputies said.

Atlanta police officers called out sick to protest the filing of murder charges against an officer who shot a man in the back, while the interim chief acknowledged members of the force feel abandoned amid protests demanding massive changes to policing.
Interim Chief Rodney Bryant told The Associated Press in an interview that the sick calls began Wednesday night and continued Thursday, but said the department had sufficient staff to protect the city. It’s not clear how many officers called out.
“Some are angry. Some are fearful. Some are confused on what we do in this space. Some may feel abandoned,” Bryant said of the officers. “But we are there to assure them that we will continue to move forward and get through this.”

Yesterday Atlanta Gov and the Media were ignoring or dismissing the Blue Covid. Now it is a different tune because they can’t hide the obvious gaps in coverage even though they swear the are OK. The info coming out Cop Social Media groups and blogs paints a different picture than the official narrative.

TV networks hire PI to scope stars’ social media for racism
A group of big TV networks — including CBS, MTV and VH1 — have hired famed private investigator Edward Myers to probe their own stars’ social media accounts to root out any racist comments, Page Six has exclusively learned.
The move comes after a spate of celebrities were recently fired over resurfaced racist posts. Last week, Bravo fired “Vanderpump Rules” stars Brett Caprioni and Max Boyens for offensive tweets, and on Wednesday the network canned “Below Deck Mediterranean” star Peter Hunziker for a racist Instagram post. Meanwhile, the CW fired Hartley Sawyer from “The Flash,” and MTV let go “Teen Mom’s” Taylor Selfridge for similar offenses (although Selfridge claims she quit).
Now we’re told that several networks have hired California-based firm Edward Myers & Associates in an attempt to root out offensive posts from on-air and production talent before they’re made public and embarrass their bosses.
It starts in Hollywood but it will quickly trickle down to the rest of society.
Corporate America seems to be run by a combination of radical Leftists and gutless-fucking-wonders who fear any sort of social media controversy.
Did one of your 100,000 low-level employees say something on their own private Twitter that was offensive? The Social Justice Hate Mob better get #Boycott[Corporation] trending.
It seems like they believe that a business is directly accountable for every second of every day of every employee and contractor’s life from birth until the present moment whether on the clock or off.
Companies are going to have to hire security firms and investigators to go through employees’ and prospective employee’s social media accounts to look for anything the mob might find offensive and take proactive action, i.e. rejecting the application or firing their ass.
Of course, there is no statute of limitations for the mob, so that Tweet from high school when you were a stupid teenager doing what stupid teenagers do, is going to bite you in the ass.
Of course, we don’t know what counts as racist to the mob, do we? The obvious stuff is obvious, but what about the less obvious stuff? Did you criticize Obama? Did you retweet something from Ben Shapiro? Did you fail to participate in Blackout Tuesday or give your avatar a rainbow background during pride month? Who the fuck knows. There is no way to predict what the mob’s next purity test will be.
My fear is that this added cost and risk is going to make risk-averse companies look for ways to offload that risk and Chinese slave laborers in a ChiCom factory don’t have social media, so I suspect more outsourcing will occur as Americans become too risky to hire.
What I would like to see if corporate America grow a pair of balls and tell the mob to “fuck off, eat shit, and die in a fire” and what employees do on their own time is their own, and it’s only a problem if it affects their job.
Since I doubt that will happen, my second hope is that huge numbers of Americans nuke their social media accounts. Kill your Facebook, Twitter, TicToc, etc. Go so far as to mass delete your YouTube comments.
Social media is a poison that is toxic to society if the Left is making so toxic that it threatens employability in America, we should collectively throw it all in the garbage and go back to a healthier, pre-Facebook America.
