The last few nights have proven one thing to all but those who live in the thickest, most impenetrable bubbles and loudest echo chambers:

The police are not coming to protect you, when the shit hits the fan the system will be overwhelmed, you are own your own and you must be your own first and last line of defense.

I will bet good money each and every one of these people is a first time gun buyer, and that each and every one of those people will be shocked that when they feel that they need a gun to protect themselves that the gun laws in New York are going to make that very difficult.

I don’t think the Left understands what it did to the gun debate.

Dem politician: “We need permits and mandatory waiting periods.”

Moderate  small business owner: “So when the riots start and I go to buy a gun after the first night, I have to wait 90 day for the paperwork to clear before I drop the cash, then I can’t pick up my gun until a week later?”

Dem politician: “Yes.”

Moderate small business owner: “Fuck you.”

Between the Rona and the Riots, A lot of people are being Red Pilled on guns.  It’s just too bad that for many of them that Red Pill came as a suppository.

Mayor Bill de Blasio has so “mishandled” the rioting in New York City that Governor Andrew Cuomo has floated the idea of displacing him.

The numbers are pretty stark.

"You have 38,000 police officers, deploy them," @NYGovCuomo says.

The NYPD deployed 8,000 officers last night. It was 4,000 the previous night.

"There was rampant looting that they did not stop, that is what they did wrong,"

The NYPD is the largest police force in the country.  During a night of violence and looting, why would it only deploy 10% of its officers?

Because that is the way de Blasio wanted it.

If you want to understand the evils of the ideology that de Blasio adheres to understand that the Mayor of New York City had the NYPD put more effort into stopping Jews from praying than he did stopping rioters from burning and looting.

The Mayor has prioritized the mob’s desire for grievance-mongering violent revenge over the Constitutionally protected peaceful rights of the people.

Woman, 22, killed at protest as civil unrest roils Davenport

A woman was killed early Monday in an apparently random shooting as she was leaving a protest against police brutality in Davenport, as gun violence and looting rocked the city for hours, police and her relatives said.

Italia Marie Kelly, 22, was one of two people fatally shot overnight as shootings and property destruction unfolded in many parts of Davenport, a city of 100,000 people across the Mississippi River from Illinois.

Kelly, who is biracial and went by the last name Impinto, and a friend were getting in a vehicle to leave around midnight because the protest outside a Walmart had turned unruly, Hale said.

That’s when she was struck in the back by a bullet that went through her shoulder and chest, likely killing her instantly, Hale said.

That is a very sterile description of the situation.

Her pain is real.

This is the truth covered up by the media that is playing at armchair revolutionaries.

Innocent people are being hurt and killed and other innocent people are suffering because of it.

When this is all over, we cannot forget, or let them gloss over, what it is that they did to us.  They destroyed the lives of so many so they could feel a rush.
