Thoughts on NRA 2020 BoD elections.

Gotta find the stamps

I was asked to give my thoughts about who to vote for. I think I might have mentioned one or two candidates in the past a couple of times, but this year is all up to you.

I reckon most of the NRA haters of late are no longer part of the organization and their opinion is worth spit (and more than likely, they were not members for a long time anyway) so those remaining need to use their brain and not their meme-filled emotions to decide who to vote for.

A lot of damage has been done to the NRA thanks to Bloomberg and with the direct support of Useful Idiots within the Gun Community.  People that are still outraged about the italian suits, have not elevated one single solitary peep of complain on how to or who gave The Trace the NRA’s internal documentation. As far as I know, we still have at least one spy or turncoat within the organization, likely paid by the Billionaire that Hates You and people are still bitching about private plane rides.

If you are gonna vote, do so with pragmatism. Understand that the NRA is still you biggest caliber in the gun safe and that political maneuvering is not a sign of weakness or quitting but strategy.  It is hard to it down with a legislator and convince him/her that the vote must go our way or at least not to vote against it and that screaming NO COMPROMISE at their faces is the fastest way for them to shut down and vote against us.

Politics is a game of seducing, not screaming and raping.

So basically, think hard and vote as you feel it will be helpful to the Second Amendment, not from the feels of a Chest Thumping meme.

Anti-gun activist Surgeon goes full Smollette/Hogg for victim credit

I have never heard of Joseph Sakran before.  Apparently he’s a Trauma Surgeon at Johns Hopkins and an anti-gun activist.

So what, Progressive doctors who pretend to be authorities over all matters because they have an MD next to their name, while really being partisan hacks, are a dime a dozen.

Yes, you know more than I about how to treat a gunshot wound, and you have treated a lot more than me.  But just because you deal with a lot of gunshot victims in Baltimore, who are overwhelmingly gang members and prior criminals shooting each other over drugs, doesn’t make you an expert on gun laws or crime prevention policy.

But I digress…

Dr. Sakran decided he wasn’t being paid attention to enough or something and decided to pull a Jussie Smollett, or perhaps a David Hogg.

He Tweeted this:

Then he went into a long thread about how he’s a victim and will not take this lying down, blah, blah, blah… (unrolled for easy reading)

Now for those who don’t know me, let me give you some background:

1. Son of Immigrant Parents
2. Nearly Killed at 17 after being shot in the throat
3. Inspired to become a Trauma Surgeon.
4. Have been working on #GunViolence prevention

5. Proud to partner with so many wonderful groups @bradybuzz @GiffordsCourage @ACSTrauma @ThisIsOurLane @AMarch4OurLives @MomsDemand @Everytown @NewtownAction @sandyhook @Ribbons4Jaime @GunsDownAmerica & others!

6. Currently working on Capitol Hill in Health Policy space.

The patients I’ve cared for and the families/loved ones continue to be my source of inspiration as to why I wake up and work tirelessly on this issue every morning.

My dear friends within movement (too many to mention) continue to guide me in right direction.
(4/x)
I’ve discussed this emotionally charged topic in a way that continues to build on the commonality that unites us as Americans.

Having spoken across the country including cities like Waco, Kansas City. I can tell you that we have more in common than we have that divides us.
(5/x)
Having this death threat on my car is so disturbing for many reasons but most importantly because my family and loved ones have been through so much during my near fatal injury that it’s hard to imagine putting them through anything else.
(6/x)
Recently we celebrated the life of #MLK. As I re-listened to some of his speeches. The one that specifically stood out was:

“I’ve seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land!”
(7/x)
We have the opportunity and the responsibility to make communities safer for Americans.

For the person who thought they could Silence me by threatening my life, you clearly know nothing about me…..Thank You for showing me that our movement is making a difference.

What utter horseshit.

Welcome to 2020, where being the son of immigrants makes you a victim because Trump, or some shit.  Spare me.

What is important to note is one tiny detail in one of the pictures he posted:

See it?  The reflection in the windshield to the left of the picture.  That’s the attic access door from a residential garage.

Did he drive all the way home with this under his windshield wiper?

Did the nutjobs threatening him sneak into his garage and put it there?

Or did he print it out at home and put it under his windshield?

Occam’s Razor and the Principle of Parsimony suggest number three.

I guess he needed some victim credit that he wasn’t getting from being a rich doctor at one of the most prestigious hospitals in the world.

You’d think a guy that smart would come up with a better hoax.

It doesn’t really matter.  Anybody who wants to believe gun rights activists are threatening doctors with death won’t question this.  Anybody who does is will be written off as a bigot and an unhinged ammosexual who needs to have his guns taken away.

Hemorrhage: What to do when.

Reading a very informative article by Greg Elifritz on the Best Tourniquets, I saw this simple graphic that explains what to use when in case of blood loss.

The image comes from a Homeland Security paper: First Responder Guide for Improving Survivability in Improvised Explosive Device and or Active Shooter Incidents

Rashida Tliab retweets blood libel, nobody seems to care

A seven-year-old Palestinian boy, Qais Abu Ramila, fell into a rainwater collection basin and drowned in Israel.

Immediately, and without evidence Palestinian activists accused Israelis of kidnapping and murdering the boy by drowning him in a well.  Either drowning children in wells or poisoning wells are a common ancient anti-Semitic blood libels.

Again, without evidence or any other details, United States Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib retweeted this blood libel by a Palestinian activist.

That a sitting Democrat Congresswoman is out spreading a blood libel from unverified sources, inciting hatred towards Israel is really just another day that ends in “y” for the Progressive party.  Of course, the mainstream media isn’t going to cover this because it makes a Democrat look bad and the Trump impeachment Senate hearing is in full swing.

I’m just adding this to the growing mountain of evidence why the Jews need to walk away from the Democrats and into gun stores.

Not too old to learn: Jerusalem.

Not the city but the song.  My only reference has been the first time I heard the Emerson, Lake and Palmer version back in 1974 and I always loved it.

Little I knew about the history of the song and indeed how rich it is till this morning via Bayou Renaissance Man:

To honor Britain and its people as they regain some of their independence, and in the hope that the island nation may be restored to at least some of its former glory, here’s a quintessentially English anthem.  It’s “Jerusalem”, a poem by William Blake set to music by Sir Hubert Parry.  The text may be found here.  This rendition is from the Last Night of the Proms concert in 2009;  the annual “Last Night” traditionally features the song in its conclusion.

And, of course, the video:

And did those feet in ancient time,
Walk upon Englands[b] mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On Englands pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold:
Bring me my Arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold:
Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In Englands green & pleasant Land

England does not have an official anthem (another thing I did not know) but God Save The Queen is the one most used as although many people have commented and lobbied to make Jerusalem as the official anthem. If the reaction of the people of the Proms 2009 video is any indication, Jerusalem should indeed represent England.

The Science is settled: Chili does have beans.

From the January 1907 issue of “What To Eat”

I shall not entertain any more arguments. This is well over 113 years of history that cannot simply be ignored.

Let this be the silliest In Memoriam to JD Kinman: bean-less Chili aficionado, author and Gentleman among many other virtues.
