Dear Beto: Don’t put lipstick in that pig and you should lead by example.

Listen to the whinny little Fake Irish Taco. He is asked what would happen if a gun owner who legally bought an AR15 would simply refuse to turn it in:

“In any law that is not followed or flagrantly abused, there has to be consequences or else there is no respect for the law. So, in that case I think there would be a visit by Law Enforcement to recover that firearm and to make sure it is purchased, bought back, so it cannot potentially used against somebody else.”

Oye, you doublespeaking pendejo,  that would not be a “visit” from law enforcement, it would be a police tactical operation. And not to “recover”  (because it was never lost or stolen) but to confiscate such weapon. Trying to cover your sorry political and legal ass by saying, “here! here is some money for your unconstitutionally confiscated weapon. We are legal now.”

And if you believe in what you spout, don’t send cops to do your bidding. Don’t hide behind the Kevlar skirts of good people in Law Enforcement who much rather go after the real violent criminals than people who have never ever committed a crime of violence.  Get some LEO training alongside other Gun Controllers (please send an invitation to David Hogg) and be the first man in the stack going inside a house to fulfill your statist dreams.

Human Link once again theweak spot of the Security Chain.

Reader Eve’s Husband sent me this story:

MADISON (WKOW) — A Madison family is missing two cars after burglars broke in to their home Thursday morning.
Unlike a majority of the stolen car cases in Madison, the homeowners say everything was locked up.
“No shattering of windows or anything like that,” said Reynaldo Leon Peralta, whose car was broken into first.
On the surface, two stolen vehicles in Madison seems like an almost daily occurrence, but for the Leon Peraltas, they’re not sure how it happened to them.
They were certain they had locked their car doors before going to bed, however the burglars were still able to break into Reynaldo’s car, steal the garage door opener and then get inside the house.

Locked car broken into, two cars stolen in Madison

Let’s take the victim’s words and say the car was indeed locked. Obviously this was not your usual junkies roaming the neighborhood but somebody with a plan knowing the score was going to be fruitful. The question is how fast a locked car can be opened? One answer is in the next video.

Yup, under a minute and a half, and that is the guy messing up the first try and explaining what he was doing step by step while making sure the car was not damaged. I clocked after he reset the bag till he opened the door and took him 34 seconds. The air bag is called an air wedge and the kit of bag and hard wedge of that brand can be found in Amazon for  under $25. The reach tool also can be found in Amazon for under $30. So basically an investment under $60 will give you fast access to the inside of a vehicle.

Now allow be to refer you again to the human link that broke the security chain:

however the burglars were still able to break into Reynaldo’s car, steal the garage door opener and then get inside the house.

Basically they left the keys of the house outside and criminals used them to break in and steal two cars. And that is the good news: they just wanted or were satisfied with the cars in the garage. Knowing how weak most doors between the main house and the garage can be, are you puckering enough?

It seems these homeowners had a decent door in between the living quarters and the garage, including a deadbolt.

Next:

Reynaldo, the oldest, says he heard their two dogs barking and didn’t think much of it, since they often bark.

Ignoring dogs is a particular peeve of mine, but that is because all the dogs I had were tooled and trained for security first and pets second.  If a dog barked, I paid attention because it usually meant something. And if you know how to listen, you will differentiate between the “The neighbor’s cat is again in the back porch”  annoying bark from “I think we have intruders and I don’t like it” danger bark.  Let’s continue:

They already take home security seriously, with extra locks and motion sensor lights, but now they’re planning to get cameras to add that extra layer.

One of the thing I noticed when doing my small research about car break ins was that the burglars were both unimpressed by motion sensor lights and cameras.  What worked was a car that was locked and had nothing valuable inside. Lights and cameras work fine as evidence gatherers, not crime stoppers. Good doors and locks will delay a dedicated criminal, hopefully enough for you to take countermeasures, but the delay only works if you do not give them the keys to the damned house.

No amount of security can override human failures.

The truth about why the NBA and Hollywood supports China over Hong Kong

I saw an article at the Philadelphia Inquirer:

Hong Kong protesters should wave dollar bills, not U.S. flag, so NBA, Trump will pay attention

The hundreds of thousands of protesters who’ve flooded the streets of Hong Kong these last four months are righteous, incredibly heroic and — I’m starting to think — also a little bit naive. They’re the ones (at least some of them … the politics are quite complicated) waving U.S. flags into the neon night and claim that they’re fighting for the same values as America’s Founders — things like justice and the freedom to assemble and to speak freely.

Now we know that if the brave citizens of Hong Kong really wanted America’s politicians and titans of capitalism to intervene on their side, they should have been waving giant dollar bills for the camera, and telling any reporter who’ll listen that what they’re really fighting for is the right to consume, to spend freely on Starbucks’ latte and Apple’s iPhone 11 just like Thomas Jefferson wrote it up in the Declaration of Independence.

Yes, the money is part of it, but after yesterday’s news and Miguel’s early post, I think there is something deeper here.

Miguel’s post about political arrogance reminded me just how absolutely prescient George Orwell was in his writing.

It is a quote from 1984 that I have used frequently on this blog because it is very true:

There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always — do not forget this, Winston — always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever.

This is a quote from China’s President Xi Jinping:

“Anyone who attempts to split any region from China will perish, with their bodies smashed and bones ground to powder.”

Remember that the protesters in Hong Kong were waving American Flags and singing our National Anthem in symbolic support of freedom and the hope that America will help them.

Now think about all the times we have seen these wealthy, celebrity elites disparage Middle America with utter contempt.

LeBron James is over $450 Million.  How much will China censoring the NBA hurt him financially?  Will he lose his house and his fleet of cars?

Probably not.

I believe that the support of the Chinese government over Hong Kong by some Americans is to vicariously experience the pleasure that Orwell described, of being the boot stamping in another person’s face.

They can’t (yet) smash the bodies of patriotic Americans, so they will satisfy themselves by aligning with the people smashing the bodies of protesters waving American Flags.

Mass Murder in Puerto Rico. Six killed with Full Auto.

No official word as the why, but apparently the location was known to be a drug distribution point. However a local paper was not shy in describing the who and why and to explain this is the 5th shooting of the yer in that neighborhood.

‎The fifth massacre of the year was staged today’s night in the vicinity of the residential Ernesto Ramos Antonini, in Río Piedras, where winds of war for control of drug trafficking was blowing about a month ago. ‎
The intense shooting that terrorized the area’s neighbors, who picked up on their cell phones the audio of the bursts, was reported past 7:00 p.m. when hitmen opened fire on a group in the communal area. ‎
‎According to information that emerged at the scene which is corroborated by the investigators, the victims could include an individual who was allegedly the target of the hitmen who was suspected of the shooting reported on the Day of Kings in the marginal Villamar on the grounds of a nightclub in the tourist area of Isla Verde‎.

Se registra quinta masacre del año en residencial Ernesto Ramos Antonini

I am still in favor of giving Puerto Rico its independence.

Florida: Another Bloomberg RINO ? Senator David Simmons

More details have been revealed about the Republican-sponsored proposal being filed in Tallahassee that would restrict who could purchase an assault rifle.
Channel 9 sat down with the state senator who is drafting the law, David Simmons, who said the measure is being put into place to prevent the sale, gift, lease or loan of an assault rifle to anyone under the age of 25.
“The question is how do we deal with this significant crisis today and that is with young men using these assault-type weapons, creating some of the worst crises (and) massacres that we have seen,” Simmons said.
When asked why he didn’t go for a complete ban on assault rifles, he said it’s “not necessary to go that far,” but the draft he intends to file is so that the dialogue can be opened.
Democrat Carlos Guillermo-Smith was among the first to speak with Simmons about the proposal.
“These are weapons of war, made for war and don’t belong in civilian hands no matter the age,” said Guillermo-Smith

Florida Republican proposes gun reform measure limiting who can purchase assault rifles

And the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, no less. Was the Bloomberg money well spread around from Galvano? Is he really thinking Democrats are going to like him more because he is coming up with a “compromise” bill? I think he is for re-election next year and maybe thinking Democrats are going to vote for him rather than their candidate. HA!

Young man walks in a gun store, cash hot in his pocket and approached the counter.
-“Hi, I would like to buy an AR15 like that one.”
_”Sure enough, here. check it out.”
-“Perfect. I’ll take it. .
-“Let’s fill the paperwork. First thing, how old are you?”
-“24”
-“I m sorry, law says I can’t sell you this dangerous weapon because you are too young.”
-“What? I just got out of the Army and I carried an M4 for four years. Suddenly in Florida I am too young and stupid to buy an AR15.”
-“According to our legislators, you are a potential mass shooter and needs to be isolated from this weapons. It is all for the good of the People according to them.”
-“Do it for the Children, right?”

Yes Senator Simmons, it is that stupid. Probably worse.

Why I need a new TV. (and a warning to men in general)

It is not enough that the Hallmark Channel will start its Christmas Movie avalanche of 40 new Holiday romantic movies in 10 days, but this year Lifetime has decided to go toe to toe against them and on the same date they counter bringing 28 “romance under the snow” films themselves.

And the only counter we have is Die Hard and only allowed for one day.

Guys, we are so boned is not even funny.

PS: The wife is gloating something fierce:

PS: I forgot to explain something. When we got married, we decided that the bedroom was a location where the TV was not going to be allowed.  So basically there is one TV for us to watch (mom has hers) and the TV stays in the living room for all our entertainment needs. For all intents and purposes, our household has only one TV: Hers starting October 25th.
