TRENTON, N.J. (AP) – Gov. Chris Christie has signed a law requiring law enforcement agencies to tell the state information about guns that are seized or found abandoned.

Christie said in a statement Friday that the law will help keep weapons away from criminals.

But….if the guns are already seized/recovered, by definition they are not in the hand of the criminals and one would expect that cops wouldn’t be doing a gun “Sell-Back” to the criminals or what the hell is going up in New Jersey?

So what is Miami-Dade Schools plan for safer schools?

Among other things….

Adding more School Resource Officers (SRO) to secondary schools to include middle and K-8 centers. By communicating with parents and students, officers can learn of potential issues and be proactive in reducing weapons on campus.

Took them 9 months to figure it out that having somebody with the proper tool might be a good idea. I do like most of the other proposals as they deal with making adults responsible for their lack of safety on keeping guns out of the hands of kids.

It is a good first step. 😉
