CSGV: ’cause guns and candy ZOMG! (Updated)

Sometimes it is fun to make them look even bigger fools than they are:

csgv candyAnd a wee bit of Google-Fu later, we get:

CSGV CANDY1CSGV CANDY2Supposedly there is some Pro-Gun group that will be distributing candy on October 19 (Not exactly why since I haven’t been able to get clear info on that) and the Cult Coalition to Stop Gun Rights Violence just freaked out of their minds…as usual. But the tweet was too tempting not to royally screw with it for all it was worth. Sometimes 140 characters can play against you.

UPDATE: Bill B. brings the info on the candy event:

“I think all the hoopla is about that Gun Rights Across America event. Oct 19 they’re calling for Americans to arm up and go outside to meet the neighbors. Someone in the group suggested passing out candy or having lemonade available. There website is http://www.gunrightsacrossamerica.com/”

Never pick a fight against people that can write terabites of negative comments.

I have been served with a lawsuit from SEI for 2 counts of product disparagement concerning my hearsay comments about their receiver delays.

via I NEED A LAWYER….Served with SEI Lawsuit Today – M14 Forum.

Mark Twain is attributed in saying: “Never pick a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel.” meaning do not try to fight the media since they have the loudest & widest reach. I will grant you that my slogan is not quite as catchy, but reflects the reality of our modern internet world.

According to the thread in the M14 forum, the gentleman in question has been sued by Smith Enterprises Inc. for comments he made in the forum about a product and/or quality and/or etc. I have no knowledge if the accusations on both sides are right or wrong or tepid, but SEI made a bonehead movement by involving lawyers in comments made in a forum..and a gun forum to boot where people are not too fond of tort lawyers. So far the forum member has garnered all the sympathy and the word of the lawsuit is slowly crawling to other forums and making it to the gun blogs. This does not bode well to SEI and they should remember that Jim Zumbo wrote what he thought was an innocuous line on a Friday and he was out of the job and sponsors by Sunday night on the sheer power of gun owners spreading the word and contacting those who needed to be contacted.

Although it may not have been the intention, the use of lawyers makes SEI look like they are trying to hide and at the same time, silencing by legal strong-arming this individual. This has already been seen as a cowardly maneuver and it is gonna take 100 times more effort to counter it than if they decided to leave it alone or just simply make a strong statement in the forum countering (very politely) the original post.

Youth soccer league: No balls, scoring to halt ‘negative effects of competition’

In an extreme effort to stamp out unfriendly competition, a youth soccer group in Midlake, Ontario, is eliminating soccer balls from their games and forcing kids to pretend they’re kicking a ball around.

“This year to address some of the negative effects of competition, we’ve actually removed the ball,” said Helen Dabney-Coyle of Midlake’s Soccer Association, OpposingViews.com reported. “And the kids are loving it.”

Dear God, please somebody tell me this is a bad joke. If not, I propose we start bitchslapping some people that truly deserve it.

CURRENT VOTE: Better defining the constitutional right to bear arms.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT: “Because a well-regulated National Guard and Reserve, and well-regulated Federal, state, and local public safety departments, are necessary to the security of our free states and our free nation, the rights of citizens, while serving in their capacity in the aforesaid organizations, to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

via Vote Now: A constitutional right to bear arms.

Apparently this is not a joke and brought to you by the people at the National Constitution Center whatever & whomever the hell they are. So far is 94% against it…and I think it is too low still.

You know what to do.

Book Review #1: I Am Soldier of Fortune: Dancing with Devils.

I Am Soldier of Fortune: Dancing with Devils by Robert K. Brown.

September 2013 002When I was a younger fella and living in the USA for the first time back then in the 80s, I had the luck of picking up a weird magazine that had guns and people shooting things and even other people. But that was just the gift wrapping because I realized that it was indeed done by people who not only knew what they were talking about, they were going to places and finding out the real story behind what the exalted media was trying to portray. That magazine was Soldier of Fortune, much maligned by the MSM mostly because they were envious of the testicular nature of what it is defined as “looking for the story.”

I Am Soldier of Fortune is not a per se biography of SOFs founder Robert K. Brown but it is him telling you stories as if you were sitting across him in a house of spirits savoring your particular poison. To me it was a reminder of days in the 80s that pretty much were the last ones of the daredevils when you can actually hop in a plane, fly to a war zone and join an army of your choice. Historians pretty much cover the 80s under the hateful view given to Reagan and his fight against the Soviets, but they ignore that shit was happening all over the globe. It was the time that you could have joined a three-letter federal agency just because you spoke the proper language and were crazy enough to seek action and not because you had a parchment issued by a recognized House Of Lefty Education and knew how to kiss ass. It was the time when Merc was a bad word and they wore it proudly because they were there and the others were hiding. Dan Rather went to Afghanistan ONCE and he was pretty much demanding the Medal of Honor for his reporting well away from danger; SOF staffers kept going and going to the thick of it just to have fun, shoot shit and write articles for the readers.

And trust me, RKB did not touch but 1% of all the crap they pulled or the book would be over a thousand pages long.

Reading this book will give you 5 extra points for your Man Card… go get it.

2013 Kilted to Kick Cancer… don’t worry I am not wearing a curtain….er… kilt.

Kilted to Kick Cancer is a group of individuals who raise funds to fight prostate cancer. They do by advertising themselves wearing kilts and calling attention to themselves in the most ugliest of fashion manner…..it is amazing how few males can actually get away by wearing a kilt and apparently none of them are with the 2013 Kilted to Kick Cancer. 🙂

Jokes aside, please give whatever you can. I will “sponsor” Jay G. from Mar-ooned because so far he is the one that scared me the most with his get-up. And yes, he has great prizes to boot! If you want to avoid the eye injury, go ahead ad go to Jay’s Donation Page directly.

Let’s shove a finger up prostate cancers butt!

(So I’ll never work for J. Walter Thompson…so what?)

Forked Tongue News: Blue Horn Lounge owner Tim Wood.

North Carolina now allows for CWP holders to attend places where alcohol is served but they cannot consume it. Cue the Freaky Nannies who are busy placing Gun Free Zones in their locales because…you now, them signs are force fields against bad intentions. And of course, there is always one idiot who cannot seem to understand the concept of hypocrisy.

“I just wonder what else the legislature is wasting their time on,” Blue Horn Lounge owner Tim Wood said, “with all the problems we have now.”

The Blue Horn Lounge’s tinted windowfront on Franklin Street made the partnership’s sticker invisible, so he went online and ordered another kind.

“Guns are a tool for killing. Alcohol is a tool for making bad judgment,” Wood said. “The two should not be combined.”

via CHAPEL HILL: Chapel Hill downtown group tackles N.C. gun law changes | Chapel Hill | ChapelHillNews.com.

He badmouths gun owners but has no problem selling alcohol that is “a tool for making bad judgment.” I wonder how many DUIs have originated from his place of business and he has not given a crap.

Basically, the ones that won’t get intoxicated cannot come in and those who want to get bombed are welcome. Make sense from a purely business point of view.
