The 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s famous speech and a march to assure that every individual in the United States should enjoy all the rights enumerated in the Constitution, we have the president of a group who wants to ban guns giving a speech. Basically a white guy telling black folks that they can’t have guns.

I am sending this to every law enforcement department in the nation and to the Defense Department too. We’ve been doing it wrong all this time!

In a month’s time, every cop in the nation will be carrying a rubber ducky instead of a sidearm. “Stop or I’ll squeak!” will be the new call to arms…wait, not arms… oh hell, never mind.

As much as it gives me a headache, it is nice to see them drown in their own fallacies.

MCKINLEY PARK — If a Chicago alderman has his way, the city could someday see drones buzzing through the skies as part of an effort to keep students safe as they walk to school.

“We could use the help.!” Ald. George Cardenas (12th) tweeted, along with an article from The Telegraph outlining ways the remote-controlled, unmanned aerial vehicles — commonly known as drones — have been used outside of military actions. “Why not use drones in safe passage.??”

I should have expected that today was going to be full of unmitigated political bullshit.

If Dr. King were to come from the other side, he would do a full fledged reprise of the flogging at the Temple and beat the crap of every single idiot that uses his name to snuff Freedom out. He’d probably have Jesus next to him with a baton oh his own and Buddha blocking the exit.

The returning students were greeted not only by their teachers but also the presence of more armed guards — and with them a solemn reminder of the tragedy that struck their town last year.

You would think a Lemonade Stand would be enough deterrent against “gun violence.” Apparently some do not think so and rather have some hard dose of reality and real solutions.

One day people will figure that removing the dog’s fangs and leaving the chicken coop open is not the best way to keep the foxes away.

The Crimson Trace Midnight 3 Gun Invitational was a dual purpose event. The first two nights provided shooting industry media an opportunity to shoot the match before the pro 3 Gunners arrived for the Friday and Saturday night competition. Sponsoring vendors also set up demonstrations at the range during daylight hours to test out some of their latest gear.

I am not a big fan of 3-Gun, but I have to admit this night shoot with all the toys had to be fun. Hoping that electronics will eventually come down in price for those of us in a budget.

This was on the front page of today’s Wall Street Journal:

We were told that Schools did not need anybody armed, that the best solution against violence in school was gun control, that we gun-toting rednecks did not know anything and the great brains would implement what was needed to bring us a world full of happiness.

But there is Chicago where the experiment is in full swing. Cops at school? Safe Passage routes? What went wrong? There shouldn’t be anybody with a gun at school, not even a cop! That would be admitting that the crazy Wayne LaPierre was right!

Of course Chicago is a special case. The present and previous administrations just let the social problems fester by throwing money and not tackling the real issues. A direct attack on the gang problem would bring them immediate accusations of racism which might be a kiss of death for re-elections. It is easier to blame guns, blame the NRA and its members and blame everybody but their special interests and voters. Lets not make waves, let’s not tackle the problem head on. Hell, dead kids make for fine political speeches and campaign contributions.

And then, there is the “unorthodox” common sense approach like the one chosen by the Arkansas Christian Academy:

The message is quite simple: “You try to hurt our kids, you’ll be killed.” It is a basic response from any living animal: The offspring is to be protected by all means up and including deadly force. Mama Bear did not get her reputation by setting up a lemonade stand for the cubs and skipping coffee houses. Mama Bear will trounce you if you screw with her progeny. End of Story.

George Zimmerman, the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who killed Trayvon Martin, plans to ask the state of Florida to cover $200,000 to $300,000 of his legal expenses, his attorney told the Orlando Sentinel Monday evening.

Because Zimmerman was acquitted, state law requires Florida to pay all his legal costs, minus the biggest one: the fee that goes to his lawyers.
