There have been some initially strange things happening after the shooting beginning with the local chapter of the NAACP getting involved and apparently in full support of the grieving widow.
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – The NAACP and Eastep family speak out Friday following the fatal officer-involved shooting on I-65 Thursday.
The attorney of a grieving family called out law enforcement officials after 37-year-old Landon Eastep was shot to death in the middle of the interstate Thursday by police.
The wife Eastep leaves behind, 30-year-old Chelesy Eastep, spoke publicly Friday for the first time. Chelesy, the family attorney as well as NAACP all spoke at Friday evenings news conference. They said that Landon was taken too soon at the hands of law enforcement.
What is the NAACP getting involved with a case where the victim is White? And then we have the tearful declaration of his wife:
Eastep’s wife speaks out: ‘Landon didn’t deserve this’
His wife, Chelsey Eastep, spoke out for the first time since his death. She acknowledged Landon Eastep suffered from mental health issues but said he was ‘very loving’ and would sometimes go for walks to clear his head as he did on Thursday.
‘I want people to remember that Landon didn’t deserve this,’ Chelsey Eastep said. ‘Landon wasn’t a bad guy. He was crying out for help, and his cries went completely unanswered.’

Chelesy Eastep is the widow Landon leaves behind. “Landon was very loving,” Chelesy said. “He always had me laughing.”
He was such a loving person and was so good to his wife that Chelesy had to get not one but two restraining orders against him last year (oops!)

News4 discovered Eastep and his wife, Chelesy, had a rocky relationship. She filed two orders of protection against him in the second half of 2021.

But wait! There is more!
The first order came on Sept. 3 in which Chelesy Eastep described fleeing to the Family Safety Center because “Landon was drunk and had been drinking alcohol all day.” She went on to say Landon “charged toward” her and she “could tell he was irritated,” so she went to the Family Safety Center to avoid an altercation.
After she left, she said Landon sent her a text message that said, “The next time you call the police on me you better call an ambulance with them. Where the f*** are you at.”
She said he proceeded to send her 50 obscene and vulgar text messages and left her a voicemail, threatening to choke and kill her. She told officials she was afraid of her husband.

He was so funny, she had to run away sacred for her life, right?
On Nov. 17, Chelesy Eastep filed another order of protection after Landon allegedly kicked in a door, threw a shelf at her and punched a hole in the wall.
She alleged he threatened her, saying, “If you call the police, I will beat myself up and you, so we can both go to jail. I will kill you.”
She called Landon Eastep “delusional” and cited a time he called police because he “thought there were aliens outside.
Days prior, she said, he threatened to beat and kill her dog.
“I believe he is capable of killing me,” she wrote.
That is pure loving husband right there.
Chelsey Eastep told officials on that day that he had a long history of abusing her.
“In the past, Landon has strangled me multiple times and threatened to kill me with a knife,” she said
So why this sudden change from being the beaten, choked and scared wife needing to escape her home and obtain retraining orders to bereaved spouse demanding justice for is loving mate? I would not be surprised if certain political elements of the Nashville area promised her a big fat check coming to her in a settlement if she files a wrongful death lawsuit (with their help and appropriate commission) against the city.
And learning a bit so far about the political makeup of the city of Nashville, she will probably get her payday and so will the NAACP.

Unfortunately, shootings involving children & teens are tragic & well-documented parts of our daily lives. What I don’t think people realize is that the NRA & other interest groups have made it one of their top marketing priorities to promote gun use to kids. (3/5)

In doing this, the gun industry is following a trail once blazed by Big Tobacco in its efforts to entice kids to smoke cigarettes. This isn’t about gun owners teaching their kids how to shoot. This is about companies putting profit over the lives of children. It is wrong. (4/5)

First of all, I’d like one example of a kid who attended an NRA sponsored youth gun safety program, youth safe hunting program, or Boy Scout riflery merit badge program who went on to become a school shooter.
Of course these have nothing to do with one another.
Here are some recent headlines that I think are worth noting:

These are from all over the country.
They understand that the schools are indoctrination centers and a tool for establishing cultural hegemony.
Gun Culture is their enemy. How dare we teach our children to shoot and to know how to use guns safely. How dare we raise out children in our culture with our values of freedom and self reliance.
Instead schools are to inculcate children with their culture of gender queerness and sexual libertinism.
You can’t teach your middle school child how to shoot a 22 but they can teach your middle school child about same-sex oral sex experimentation.
Which is more of a danger to a child, an NRA gun safety class or a book about 8th graders giving blow jobs?
And which one of those is the educational bureaucracy advocating for and against?
Reject their culture and promote your own.

Of course we need infrastructure spending.
The problem is the money is spent on bullshit to appease donors before it’s spent on vital infrastructure because the quality of our political leaders is dogshit.
So…
Under my administration, I’ll engage in infrastructure spending.
Money must be spent on roads, bridges, drainage, and breakwaters first.
Priority will be lowest rated to highest rated.
No money will be spent of frivolities (bike lanes, Pride flag crosswalks, high speed rail for wealthy suburbanites to get to the downtown art district faster) before every bridge is in good shape, all the potholes are gone, and everything drains correctly.
My administration has the exclusive right to audit a locale to determine if this has been done.
Any violation will result in the prosecution and imprisonment in a federal penitentiary of all locale leaders for embezzlement of government funds, and having their personal assets seized to go towards more infrastructure spending.
If the frivolous project benefits a political donor, i.e., some wealthy developer or neighborhood gets a bike lanes from their million dollar townhouses to a Whole Foods or farmers market, I seize their assets too.
Strike the fear of God into to donor class as well.
I used to be a conservative but the corruption and grift has turned me into a populist authoritarian.
I didn’t want to become this way, but when I have to swerve around potholes and there are no plows for the snow, but downtown gets gay crosswalks and bike lanes to the Whole Foods (again, I’m not making these examples up) my transformation is understandable.
