Since we don’t have what happened prior to the guns being drawn, I cannot say if the “peaceful protesters” are just being dicks with guns (probably) or they had cause (doubtfully.) The two gun men are very lucky the driver decided to de-escalate, both of the standing in front of the truck was not a sound tactical maneuver.

In most states with SYG, you lose legal protection if you have to use your gun in a lethal encounter that you unlawfully instigate. These guys wouldn’t have had to draw their guns if they weren’t illegally block and attempting to detain motorists.

Sure, if its already in drive, and it’s just you in the truck, and you wanna drive forward, floor it, they hear the engine rev before the torque is applied to the rear drives and they start shooting. You might duck and be safe, but i wouldn’t floor it and go forward with other lives in my truck. Instead, the second guns are drawn and pointed at you (the driver) draw your weapon and eliminate the the threats thru your windshield while driving in reverse.
Don’t just buy a gun and think you know what to do in a situation. Train at the range and courses, go take actual tactical training courses taught by skilled professionals.
If it’s an electric vehicle, just stomping on the accelerator will get the job done. No delay, no revving up to get torque.
You never convince someone that their view of BLM or any other issue is misguided by using violence, looting or any other criminal act.. I know nothing about what happened..but just because the police killed two black people does not mean they were in the wrong.. a jury will figure that out.. and time.

A person pulls a gun on me standing in front of my car, I’ll pull my weapon and defend myself and stomp on the accelerator. If I’m really pissed, I’ll back up and do it again. These people are just stupid crazy, don’t gamble and think the driver isn’t as well.
