A Florida teen was killed and two of his pals were arrested after taking turns shooting live rounds at each other while wearing armored vests, police said Friday.

Christopher Broad, 16, was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound inside a home in Belleview on Sunday. He was rushed to a local hospital where he died from the injuries, cops said.

An ensuing probe revealed that Broad and another boy, Joshua Vining, 17, were taking turns “shooting each other while wearing a vest which contained a form of body armor,” the Belleview Police Department said in a statement.

I get the feeling they ordered a vest from one of them deep discount online Chinese stores and got what they paid for. Or maybe they decided to shoot a caliber well above the specified rating of an old vest?

Still, what on earth posses somebody to stand in front of a gun and taking a round for fun?

  1. ‘Progressive’ logic. A 16 yr old is too immature to know not to point a loaded gun at another and pull the trigger. That same 16 yr old is aware enough to have their balls/tits cut off.

  2. “Taking turns.” Probably shot him twice in the same spot on the vest.

I wonder if it was drugs, alcohol, or just stupid teenage male behavior?

  3. Yep. With his own weapon, with known weight/powder load cartridges. Double contrast to these unfortunates. (If they were dumb, or intoxicated, they were unfortunate enough to multiply dumb/drugged/both x lethal “games” =life ending result. For both of them. One mortuarily, one penitentiaries. )

    1. Re penitentiary: I don’t know about that. What would the charge be? I can see negligent homicide, maximum. And for that I would think the prosecution would have to prove that a reasonable person would have foreseen the bullet proof vest is defective or inadequate. Especially given that these are so-called juveniles, that sounds like it could be hard to do. I’m expecting “death by an unfortunate accident” as the outcome.

      1. I agree. OTOH, even a non criminal negligent shoot can end the life you thought that you had. Perhaps not incarcerated, maybe internal (conscience) damnation.

        Damned shame, in any case.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
